For this purpose, the RL parameter updating method includes: a step in which the base station determines whether to update an HSDPA related parameter and transmits the parameter update information to the RNC to trigger updating of the RL parameter; and a step in which the RNC updates the HSDPA related parameter and transmits it to the terminal. The parameter update information is delivered through an RL parameter update response message, and the RNC is a serving RNC.

When receiving a notice of a notification event related to a BCAST service or an Service Guide (SG), a BCAST Subscription Management (SM), including a Notification Generation Function (NTG), creates a notification message about the notification event and sends it to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (SD/A). The BCAST SD/A sends the notification message to one terminal or a group of terminals through a Broadcast Distribution System (BDS) or an interaction network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for uplink scheduling in a communication system are provided. The method includes determining whether a User Equipment (UE) is included in an uplink scheduling list, a buffer length of the UE is estimated, if the UE is included in the uplink scheduling list, it is determined whether a Buffer State Report (BSR) indicating the buffer length of the UE has been received from the UE, if the estimated buffer length is 0, and the UE is transitioned to a non-zero BSR reception state and maintained in the uplink scheduling list, if the BSR has not been received from the UE. The non-zero BSR reception state is a state in which a zero BSR indicating the buffer length of the UE is 0 has not been received.

Abstract: A method for controlling an uplink dedicated channel by a Node B in a mobile communication system. The Node B generates configuration decision information including a UE Transmission Power Headroom (UPH) included in scheduling information received from a User Equipment (UE), and determines if there is a need for a change in the uplink dedicated channel configuration information based on the configuration decision information. When there is a need for a change in the uplink dedicated channel configuration information, the Node B sends to a Radio Network Controller (RNC) the configuration decision information and a message for requesting a change in the uplink dedicated channel configuration information. The Node B receives changed uplink dedicated channel configuration information that the RNC generated based on the configuration decision information.

The MBMS service enables the same service or desired services to be provided to a number of users. In the ciphering method, a ciphering key for encoding MBMS data is previously provided to an authorized UE, and the authorized UE is informed of when MBMS data encoded using the ciphering key is to be transmitted, thereby preventing unauthorized UEs from illegally receiving the MBMS service.
