  • Publication number: 20060237452
Abstract: A defrost vessel for a microwave oven includes a body having a certain space therein for receiving a refrigerating load, and an antenna connected to the body for oscillating a microwave into the space of the body. When microwave is supplied into a cavity of the microwave oven, the microwave is oscillated into the space of the body by the antenna and thus the microwave is deeply penetrated up to inside of the refrigerating load. Also, the microwave is secondly emitted into the space of the body from an edge of the slot, thereby completely defrosting the refrigerating load.

  • Patent number: 7078661
Abstract: A microwave oven door, and more particularly, an apparatus for shielding electromagnetic wave that compensates for the length of slots formed in an end of an oven door in order to improve the shielding ability capable of preventing the leakage of electromagnetic wave from the cavity. In the apparatus, a choke structure includes a choke base connected with an inner portion of the oven door, a choke inner side portion bent perpendicularly from the choke base and a choke top bent from the choke inner side portion to contact a front circumferential portion of an oven cavity. Slots are formed in the choke top and the choke inner side portion at a predetermined interval. Each slot is extended from a distal end of the choke top to a predetermined point of the choke inner side portion. The predetermined point is distanced the same as or smaller than the half of the width of the choke inner side portion from a joint between the choke top and the choke inner side portion.

  • Patent number: 5861612
Abstract: A multimode electromagnetic wave energy rejection filter arrangement for a slot waveguide includes at least one system of series coupled LC-circuits located, at least partly, within a cavity of the slot waveguide and arranged along a predetermined line intersecting the wave vectors of electromagnetic waves to be rejected, the LC-circuits including lumped elements and the coupling between the LC-circuits being substantially weak. The LC-circuits may be located, at least partly, within grooves formed in a wall of the slot waveguide. As applied to a heating apparatus employing high frequency electromagnetic wave energy or microwave energy for heating dielectric materials, the series coupled LC-circuits are arranged along a closed line which envelopes the access opening in a body of a multimode resonator heating chamber, in which the high frequency electromagnetic wave energy is employed for heating.

  • Patent number: 5409734
Abstract: A film for a light valve is made by phase separation of a mixture comprising a homogeneous polymeric solution and a liquid suspension of light-polarizing particles. Uniform liquid-suspension droplets in a polymeric matrix are formed by phase separation processing, e.g., by polymerization or solvent evaporation. Such simple, one-step processing results in cost reduction in display and window applications. Sealing problems of conventional light valves are alleviated.
