  • Patent number: 9830814
Abstract: A motor vehicle system for generating and transmitting detected object attributes includes a communication system module positioned in a host vehicle receiving vehicle attribute data from a target vehicle and a sensed vehicle and preparing a fused object attribute data for transmission to the target vehicle. A vehicle track data sub-module in communication with the communication system module independently tracks the sensed vehicle and the target vehicle. An object detection and classification system module having a 3D object detection module identifies a vehicle type defined at least by a vehicle size and generates an object attribute data. A target fusion module receives the object attribute data from the object detection and classification system module, fuses the object attribute data with the vehicle attribute data to create the fused object attribute data, and forwards the fused object attribute data to the communication system module for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170025012
Abstract: A motor vehicle alert system based on vehicle dynamics input includes a communication module positioned in a host vehicle receiving and sending vehicle data in a vehicle mobility data format. A list generator in communication with the communication module generates the vehicle data as specific vehicle identification data in a track list to distinguish a sensed vehicle and at least one other vehicle positioned proximate the host vehicle. A tracker module in communication with the list generator periodically updates the vehicle data for the sensed vehicle and the at least one other vehicle. A transient condition data device generates data identifying when a transient condition of the sensed vehicle is present. A message standard conformance module receives the data identifying the transient condition and forwards the data identifying the transient condition to the communication module for transmission to the at least one other vehicle proximate to the host vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20170025008
Abstract: A system and method of using V2V communication to inventory and communicate the availability of a parking space. The method includes capturing and analyzing an image of a parking area to identify the availability and location of a parking space. Real time images of roaming vehicles are also captured and analyzed to identify recently occupied or vacated parking spaces. Available parking spaces are inventoried in a data base. The method further includes a roaming V2V vehicle detecting the availability and location of a parking space and transmitting the information to other V2V vehicles and to the data base to augment the inventory. The database inventory is then transmitted by a roadside unit to a V2V equipped vehicle within the parking area. The V2V vehicle merges the information from the database and other V2V vehicles, and generates a LDM displaying the locations of non-occupied parking spaces contained in the multiple signals.

  • Publication number: 20100127299
Abstract: A lighting system can comprise one or more light emitting diodes (“LEDs”) that emit substantially white light and a thermoelectric cooler (“TEC”) for maintaining the LEDs within a temperature range. The TEC can comprise an electrical circuit that includes two different semiconductors or two dissimilar metals that provide cooling when electrically energized. The electrical circuit can adjoin or touch one side of a plate, sheet, wafer, or substrate of material, such as ceramic, that insulates electricity and conducts heat. In operation, the electrical circuit can cool the plate or actively transfer heat from the plate. The LEDs can adjoin or touch the side of the plate that is opposite the electrical circuit. Thus, a TEC circuit can contact one surface of a thin piece of ceramic material, while an LED contacts the opposite surface.
