  • Patent number: 10178504
Abstract: A computer program product and a computer system for monitoring an operation status of a disconnected device by a mobile device and an audio analysis system in an infrastructure. The mobile device has connectivity to the infrastructure while the disconnected device has no connectivity to the infrastructure. The audio analysis system receives from the mobile device audio with information of a location of the mobile device. The audio analysis system determines whether the audio is recorded from the disconnected device based on the information of the location of the mobile device, compares the audio with pre-recorded sounds of the disconnected device, determines the operation status of the disconnected device, and sends to the mobile device a notification of the operation status of the disconnected device.

  • Patent number: 10171944
Abstract: A computer program product and a computer system for monitoring an operation status of a disconnected device by a mobile device and an audio analysis system in an infrastructure. The mobile device has connectivity to the infrastructure while the disconnected device has no connectivity to the infrastructure. The mobile device invokes passive listening of the mobile device to a sound generated by the disconnected device, determines whether the sound can be detected by the mobile device, and steams audio with information of a location of the mobile device to the audio analysis system. The audio analysis system determines whether the audio is recorded from the disconnected device, compares the audio with pre-recorded sounds of the disconnected device, determines the operation status of the disconnected device, and sends to the mobile device a notification of the operation status of the disconnected device.

  • Publication number: 20180373207
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: obtaining an input including an image of a plant, identifying a species of the plant by use of visual recognition of the image. The image is analyzed for symptoms and candidate diagnoses are selected from a diagnostic repository according to the symptoms. With respective candidate diagnoses, a confidence score and a treatment regimen are associated. According to a treatment mode, the candidate diagnoses and treatment regimen are delivered.

  • Patent number: 10165515
Abstract: A cognitive assistant for mobile devices in low power mode. A first signal may be received from a mobile device via a communication network, the first signal indicating that the mobile device entered low power mode. Responsive to receiving the first signal, communications from a plurality of servers directed to the mobile device may be rerouted to another hardware processor, wherein the hardware processor receives the communications instead of the mobile device receiving the communications. The hardware processor may analyze the communications' content and assign weights to the communications. A selected set of communications that are assigned weights exceeding a threshold value is transmitted to the mobile device in low power mode.

  • Publication number: 20180364714
Abstract: A tool for protecting outdoor objects from weather related damage. Responsive to a registration request, the tool registers an object and an originating location where the object is currently located. The tool determines whether a risk threshold for the object is exceeded based, at least in part, on weather conditions at the originating location. Responsive to a determination that the risk threshold for the object is exceeded, the tool instructs one or more drones to relocate the object from an originating location to a protected location that is protected from the weather conditions.

  • Publication number: 20180362082
Abstract: A parking assistance management system and method for assisting a parking of a vehicle based on a customized egress requirements is provided. The method includes the steps of identifying a user entering a vehicle, calculating a minimum egress space of the user, required for an egress of the user from the vehicle, detecting a parking space proximate at least one object, determining a viability of the parking space based on the minimum egress space, verifying that a distance between the vehicle and the at least one object is greater than the minimum egress space, when the vehicle is parked in the parking space, and broadcasting the minimum egress space to be received by other vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10152063
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product controls operations of a vehicle based on a condition of cargo being transported. One or more processors receive output from vehicle sensors on a first cargo vehicle, where the output from the vehicle sensors describes a movement of the first cargo vehicle. The processor(s) determine that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused cargo in the first cargo vehicle to shift beyond a predetermined amount, and transmit instructions to a second cargo vehicle to adjust initial cargo loading operations on the second cargo vehicle based on determining that the movement of the first cargo vehicle has caused the cargo to shift beyond the predetermined amount in the first cargo vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180330307
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system to assist people traveling together through a transport hub from a current location to a destination location using a smart portable personal computing devices which provide personal data, travel data and transport hub data. The method provides for sub-groups of traveler's having common travel preferences, and it maps routes according to those preferences for the group members to travel through the transport hub together. Continuous monitoring of values provides an alert on each sub-group member's personal computing device when the personal data, travel data, transport hub data, or predetermined parameters change.

  • Publication number: 20180324491
Abstract: A computer program product and a computer system for using emotional analysis to recommend streaming media content by a cognitive system in an infrastructure. The cognitive system receives, from at least one of a mobile device and a camera, information of at least one of biometrics, movement, body language, and facial expression of a user. The cognitive system derives a current emotional state of the user, based on the information of the at least one of the biometrics, the movement, the body language, and the facial expression. The cognitive system matches the current emotional state to user's one of previous emotional states stored in a repository in the infrastructure. The cognitive system sends to a streaming media service a recommendation on streaming media content to be consumed by the user, based on streaming media content that has been consumed by the user in the one of the previous emotional states.

  • Publication number: 20180312162
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product controls positioning of cargo being loaded onto a cargo vehicle based on sensor readings from another cargo vehicle. One or more processors receive output from a cargo sensor that describes shifting experienced by a first cargo while being transported by a first cargo vehicle, and based on the output, determine that the first cargo has shifted beyond a predetermined amount. The processor(s) transmit instructions to a robotic cargo loader of second cargo being loaded onto a second cargo vehicle to adjust a positioning of the second cargo while being loaded onto the second cargo vehicle based on the first cargo shifting beyond the predetermined amount while being transported by the first cargo vehicle, where the positioning of the second cargo in the second cargo vehicle is different from a positioning of the first cargo on the first cargo vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180302749
Abstract: A computer program product and a computer system for monitoring an operation status of a disconnected device by a mobile device and an audio analysis system in an infrastructure. The mobile device has connectivity to the infrastructure while the disconnected device has no connectivity to the infrastructure. The mobile device receives from the user a selection of the disconnected device in a list of disconnected devices, determines a location of the mobile device, and determines whether the mobile device is in proximity to a predefined location of the disconnected device. The mobile device invokes passive listening to a sound generated by the disconnected device. The mobile device determines whether the sound can be detected. The mobile device steams audio with information of a location of the mobile device to the audio analysis system. The mobile device receives a notification of the operation status of the disconnected device.
