  • Publication number: 20190028210
Abstract: Methods and systems for fast convergence. One embodiment includes the following steps: extracting a digital representation of a common mode signal of a received differential signal sent by a transceiver, and generating, by a fast-adaptive mode-conversion canceller (FA-MCC), a compensation signal to mitigate differential interference; feeding the received differential signal to at least one of the following: a digital equalizer, and a digital canceller (DEDC); wherein the FA-MCC and the DEDC feed a slicer; responsive to receiving an indication that a serious differential interference has occurred, indicating the transceiver to transmit known data; and utilizing the received known data for improving the accuracy of the slicer's errors, which enables rapid adaptation of the FA-MCC to a level that mitigates the serious differential interference and enables requesting retransmission of erred packets fast enough to maintain a fixed rate of data transmission over a 2-millisecond window.

  • Publication number: 20190028212
Abstract: Systems and methods for fast recovery from serious interferences using limited retransmissions. In one embodiment, a system includes a transceiver coupled to a second transceiver over a communication channel. The transceiver maintains a pre-retransmission packet loss rate below 1% when there is no serious interference. A limited resources retransmission module (LRRM) stores, for a delayed transmission, a maximum amount of erred packets that are accumulated during less than 1 ms at data rate above 500 Mbps. And within less than 1 ms from receiving an indication that the serious interference has occurred, a fast-adaptive canceller mitigates the effect of the serious interference, bringing the effect to a level that enables the communication system to successfully transmit data at a rate of above 500 Mbps.

  • Patent number: 10116471
Abstract: A transceiver and a corresponding method configured to recover within less than 1 ms from quality degradation in its operating point. The transceiver includes: a receiver analog front end (Rx AFE), an adaptive module comprising at least one of an adaptive digital equalizer and an adaptive digital canceller (ADEC), a common mode sensor AFE (CMS-AFE), a fast-adaptive mode-conversion canceller (FA-MCC), and a slicer. The Rx AFE receives signals from a second transceiver. Shortly after identifying quality degradation in the transceiver's operating point, the transceiver indicates the second transceiver to reduce the rate of the transmitted data. And within less than 1 ms, the transceiver utilizes the improved detection rate to improve the accuracy of the slicing errors, which enables fast adaptation of the ADEC, that improves the quality in the transceiver's operating point to a level that enables the transceiver to indicate the second transceiver to increase the rate.

  • Patent number: 10116589
Abstract: System and method for a resource reservation network that switches fast between bi-directional co-shared sessions having different network paths. A session creation module (SCM) creates a bi-directional parent session (Sp), between first and second session partners, by: allocating co-shared network resources over a first network hop, and allocating network resources over a second network hop. The SCM further creates a bi-directional derivative session (Sd) between the first session partner and a third session partner, by: allocating network resources to the Sd over a third network hop, and not allocating specifically for the Sd all the network resources required for the Sd over the first network hop. And the network is able to switch between the Sp and the Sd within a duration that is less than half the duration required to create the Sd.

  • Patent number: 10110967
Abstract: Methods and systems to release network bandwidth for a new video stream. One method includes the following steps: receiving, by a first real-time video encoder (RT-VE), a first incoming high-definition uncompressed video (HD-UV), compressing it into a first compressed video using a first low compression ratio, and sending it over a first network path to a first real-time video decoder (RT-VD). Extracting, by the first RT-VD, an outgoing HD-UV from the first compressed video. Inferring that after establishing the first network path, and as a result of insufficient bandwidth on a common link comprised in the first network path, a second RT-VE cannot send a second compressed video to a second RT-VD over a second network path that includes the common link. And Increasing on-the-fly the first compression ratio in proportion to the insufficient bandwidth, in a manner that is visually lossless for a human viewing the outgoing HD-UV.

  • Patent number: 9998397
Abstract: Methods and systems for resource reservation networks configured to maintain low latency and latency variation of co-shared sessions. A session creation module (SCM) creates a bi-directional parent session (Sp), between first and second session partners, by: allocating co-shared network resources over a first network hop, and allocating network resources over a second network hop; wherein the network resources allocated to the Sp guarantee a maximum end-to-end latency variation (e2eLV) below 100 usec. The SCM further calculates a maximum e2eLV of a potential bi-directional derivative session (Sd) between the first session partner and a third session partner; wherein the potential Sd utilizes network resources over a third network hop and the co-shared network resources over the first network hop. And the SCM creates the Sd responsive to determining that the maximum e2eLV of the Sd being below 100 usec.

  • Patent number: 9860606
Abstract: Systems and methods for fixed delay video switching. One embodiment of the system describes a fixed delay video communication link, which includes: a real-time video encoder (RT-VE) that receives an incoming high-definition uncompressed video (HD-UV), compresses the incoming HD-UV into first or second HD compressed video, and transmits the HD compressed video over a communication link to a real-time video decoder (RT-VD).
