Abstract: Technologies are generally described for providing a system that allows data use clients direct access to perform complex analysis on data assets without compromising the assets by sharing the data contained may set up the data assets in virtual datacenters (VDCs) within a physical datacenter and open additional resources within the VDCs to data use clients. The data use clients may be enabled to upload and execute analysis applications with access to valuable data. Data traffic exiting the VDCs through such applications however, ma be controlled by a supervisor that analyses an output and enforces limitations on content and/or volume based on a level of purchased access.

Abstract: Technologies may be generally described to provide viewer optimized compression of a model. In some examples, a computing device may receive a request to compress a master model for a viewer. The computing device may determine shape primitives of the master model through use of a shape primitive identification technique such as a random sample consensus (RANSAC) technique. The identified or determined shape primitives may be subtracted from the master model to determine residues of the master model. A processed model may be generated from the residues of the master model and the shape primitives. Visible subsets, visible based on a view cone of the viewer, of the residues and the shape primitives may be selected from the processed model, from which a compressed model may be generated. The processed model may then be used to generate a second view without redetermining the shape primitives.

Abstract: Techniques described herein generally relate to a task management system for a chip multiprocessor having multiple processor cores. The task management system tracks the changing instruction set capabilities of each processor core and selects processor cores for use based on the tracked capabilities. In this way, a processor core with one or more failed processing elements can still be used effectively, since the processor core may be selected to process instruction sets that do not use the failed processing elements.

Abstract: Technologies are generally described to monitor roadway infrastructure based on aggregated mobile vehicle communication parameters. In some examples, a pair of vehicles with mobile communication devices passing an infrastructure, such as a bridge, may be identified, and the mobile communication devices may exchange a signal during a mobile communication as the vehicles pass the target infrastructure. During the signal exchange, channel characterization data for the target infrastructure may be collected. The channel characterization data may represent propagation conditions of signal waves through the target infrastructure. The channel characterization data may be received at a mobile communication network, where a tomographic model of the target infrastructure may be generated based on extraction and analysis of the channel characterization data.

Abstract: Technologies are generally provided for employing a smart meter to monitor an energy-efficient appliance or upgrade associated with an incentive program and to apply the incentive program to a location associated with the appliance or upgrade. A power utility provider may provide an incentive such as on-bill financing or bill reduction for energy-efficient upgrades, purchases, or otherwise encouraged programs. The utility provider may detect operation of an energy-efficient device such as an appliance at a location through a smart meter and provide the incentive associated with the device to the address where the device is currently operated based on smart meter data. The utility provider may subsequently detect use of the device at a new location based on another smart meter detecting operation of the device at the new location and automatically provide the incentive to the new address upon detection of operation of the device at the new location.

Abstract: Technologies are directed to prevention of malicious attacks through cartography of co-processors at a datacenter. According to some examples, configuration data to create a co-processor at a field programmable gate array (FPGA) may be received at a configuration controller. The configuration controller may determine unused arrangements for the co-processor and unused placements at the FPGA corresponding to the unused arrangements. The used arrangements and the unused placements, associated with a type of the co-processor, may be stored in a configuration matrix. One of the unused arrangements and one of the unused placements corresponding to the selected unused arrangement may then be selected by the configuration controller to create the co-processor.

Abstract: Technology is described for two parties, by leveraging previously established secure connections with third parties, to obtain a shared secret for generating a secure connection with each other in a way that reduces vulnerability to man-in-the-middle attacks.

Abstract: Technologies are generally described to provide a leakage current variability based power management of a processor. According to some examples, instruction counters and aggregated power consumption of the processor may be used to process power measurements of the processor into linear equations. The linear equations may be processed to produce a set of leakage values for the processor. In an example scenario, computation data from a power controller and processor instruction counters (PICs) of a core of the processor may be used to determine the leakage current variability of the core. A table of linear combination samples may be generated from the computation data. A micro-architectural leakage map of the core may be generated from the linear combination samples within the table.

Abstract: Techniques described herein generally relate to real time inference based systems. Example embodiments may set forth devices, methods, and computer programs related to search engine inference based virtual assistance. One example method may include a computing device adapted to receive text as input and a computer processor arranged to determine at least one inference regarding subject matter of the text based on one or more web searches of one or more terms within the text. The inference(s) may then be automatically displayed upon the inference(s) being determined. The text may be automatically received as input from a voice-to-text converter as voice-to-text conversion producing the text is occurring.

Abstract: Technologies related to personal assistant context building are generally described. In some examples, network service communications, such as network traffic resulting from the use of mobile applications or “apps” on a mobile device, may be captured, parsed, and included in personal assistant context databases for use in configuring automated personal assistant user interaction operations. In some examples, parsing services may be provided to parse forwarded network service communications and generate converted data for inclusion in personal assistant context databases.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein to manage the replacement of routing rules. Some example technologies may receive a request to replace one or more active rules in a routing device with one or more stored rules. Each of the active rules and the stored rules may specify a routing rule that specifies how to route packets within a network. The active rules may be routing rules that are actively being used by the routing device. The stored rules may be routing rules that are not currently in use by the routing device. A determination may be made as to whether a number of active rule replacements for the routing device exceeds a threshold. In response to determining that the number of the active rule replacements exceeds the threshold, the request to replace the one or more active rules in the routing device may be denied.

Abstract: Technologies are generally provided to induce datacenter pricing stability. In some examples, a stabilizer module at a datacenter may be configured to monitor a customer demand for resources from the datacenter and real-time pricing for the demanded resources. The stabilizer module may detect an impending pricing instability in response to increased demand for resources, and may determine an incremental cost to provide the resources based on a determined linearity for available resources. The stabilizer module may determine combinations of linear and non-linear resources to offer to the customers based on a stability metric computed from the incremental cost and the resource demand, where the combination of resources to offer may have a more linear increase in cost per resource compared to one of the demanded resources.

Abstract: Technologies related to quorum-based Virtual Machine (VM) security are generally described. In some examples, VM data, such as a VM payload or other VM data, may be quorum-encrypted, such that a quorum of decryption keys may be used to decrypt the data. Decryption keys may be distributed among multiple VMs, with different decryption keys provided to different VMs, so that single VMs may not decrypt the VM data without decryption keys held by other VMs. To decrypt its data, a VM may assemble a quorum of decryption keys by requesting decryption keys held by other operational VMs, and the VM may then decrypt its data using the assembled quorum of decryption keys. The VM may be prevented from decrypting its data without a sufficient quorum of other operational VMs.

Abstract: Technologies are generally provided to establish a secure connection between a wireless network access point and a wireless enabled device by sharing a secret key synthesized from one or more messages exchanged over power lines. Messages exchanged between devices within a location such as a household over power lines and/or with a power utility control center may be collected, for example, communication messages between a wireless enabled device and a smart meter or any other device. The wireless enabled device and a wireless network access point may synthesize a secret key from the collected messages and share the secret key to establish a secure wireless connection over a channel that is not secure.

Abstract: Technologies are directed to a communication of application microarchitecture attributes between datacenters. According to some examples, components of a distributed broker are executed at an origin datacenter and a destination datacenter to communicate the microarchitecture attributes of an application executed or being executed at the origin datacenter. The distributed broker may read an event counter register to capture an instruction counter of the application at the origin datacenter. The instruction counter may be added to a microarchitecture instruction census (MIC) at the origin datacenter. The MIC may be combined with an identification information of the application to produce a portable affinity record at the origin datacenter. In addition, the portable affinity record may be transmitted to the destination datacenter from the origin datacenter.

Abstract: Technologies are presented for POS surveying and incentivizing consumers through immediate feedback. A consumer may purchase a product with a label including a product identifier and a survey, which may include one or more response selection. The consumer may indicate a response to the survey by modifying a product identifier and/or exposing a supplemental identifier. The product identifier and survey response identifiers may be machine-readable identifiers such as a barcode or a QR code and scanned at POS. The product identification may be provided to a store's inventory system, and an incentive system may send instructions to the POS to provide the consumer with immediate incentive for their feedback. The survey response received by the incentive system may then be provided to a product manufacturer or brand manager's survey system.

Abstract: In some examples, one or more processors of a computing system may receive telemetry data from a plurality of devices, user identifications (IDs) of a set of users of the plurality of the devices, and information from social media indicative of user sentiments toward the devices. The computing system may predict user experience related to the devices based at least in part on the telemetry data, the user IDs, and the information from the social media.
