  • Publication number: 20050039288
Abstract: Devices and methods for safely cleaning and recovering processed material from rollers is disclosed. A cleaning device removes the residual processed material from the surface of a rotating roller, where the device can include a support structure that can include a handle and a base, a reusable wiper and a fastener that holds the wiper onto the support structure. The handle can include a top palm contact surface, a bottom portion, and a stem portion comprising a pair of opposed longitudinal concave side surfaces. The base can include a substantially wedge-shape deformable base attached to the bottom portion of the handle and includes a wiper support surface. • Patent number: 5460655
Abstract: A novel method and a novel article for cleaning a metal, glass, or plastic surface without scratching or scoring the surface. The novel method includes wiping the surface with the novel article, which is made from an open cell, hydrophilic, static-dissipative, polyurethane foam, and which is laundered so that the article in deionized water releases fewer than 36.0.times.10.sup.6 per square meter of apparent surface area of the article for particles of a size greater than about 0.5 .mu.m and fewer than about 2.5 parts per million of chloride, fluoride, sodium, sulfate, sulfite, or silicon ions. The novel article may be a wiper, a sponge, a roller, a swab mounted on a handle, or a plug having a generally cylindrical shape when unstressed and having particular utility where the surface is the interior surface of a metal, glass, or plastic tube. The plug is propelled through the tube, as by means of compressed air. The novel method also may include washing the surface with deionized water.

  • Patent number: 4818001
Abstract: A chamber door lock for a roller lock system wherein a vertically reciprocable locking bar is provided with a series of rollers and a vertically reciprocable chamber door is provided with spaced block weldments. The chamber door lock includes a cam beam pivotably mounted on the chamber and coupled to the locking bar. Upward movement of the locking bar to its uppermost position clears the rollers from the door block weldments and swings the cam beam away from the top of the door to a clearance position whereby the chamber door can be raised and swung to an open position. Downward movement of the locking bar to its lowermost position moves the rollers into engagement with striker plates on the door block weldments thereby urging the door against the chamber face so as to compress the door gasket and seal the chamber face.
