    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a hoist for transferred materials in an underground auxiliary transportation system and a method thereof. The hoist includes a hoist body, guiding plates mounted at two ends of the hoist body through bolts, twist locks mounted at four ends of the hoist body, a driving unit configured to drive twist locks to rotate, transmission assemblies configured to connect the twist locks with the driving unit, ejector pins configured to prevent the twist locks from rotating mistakenly, and a sensor configured to control the hoist to operate and provide protection safety. The hoist provided by the present disclosure can satisfy the ground-to-air and ground-to-ground transferring requirements for underground materials, and the safety protection sensors can prevent a misoperation of the hoist, can adapt to standard containers of different sizes, has a certain adaptability to narrow terrains, and can improve the stability of the overall mechanism in cooperation with the rope-pulling mechanism.

    Abstract: A display may have display layers that form an array of pixels. An angle-of-view adjustment layer may overlap the display layers. The angle-of-view adjustment layer may include an array of adjustable light blocking structures formed from electrochromic material. The electrochromic material may be interposed between first and second electrode layers. When it is desired to operate the display in a private viewing mode, control circuitry may apply a current to the first and second electrodes that causes the electrochromic material to become more opaque, thereby restricting the angle of view of the display. When it is desired to operate the display in a public viewing mode, control circuitry may apply a current to the first and second electrodes that causes the electrochromic material to become more transparent, thereby opening up the angle of view of the display.

    Abstract: A device and a method for controlling a size of a molten pool in a wire and arc additive manufacturing process are provided. The device includes additive manufacturing equipment, a connecting device, bilateral gas flow devices and a CCD camera. By adjusting the connecting device, the bilateral gas flow devices and a welding gun have proper relative positions. The CCD camera is clamped on a rear side of the welding gun and matched with a proper optical filter to detect size information of the molten pool. In the additive manufacturing process, the bilateral gas flow devices and the welding gun keep moving synchronously, welding wires are conveyed to a designed position of a deposited layer by a wire feeding device, and bilateral gas flows can directly and synchronously act on a melting region. A flow controller is adjusted in real time according to the size of the molten pool.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosed technology relate to techniques for classifying layout patterns. First, a set of density feature vectors for a set of layout regions in the layout design are extracted using a set of rings. Each component of a density feature vector in the set of density feature vectors corresponds to a ring in the set of rings. The set of rings do not overlap with each other and cover a whole area of a circle when being placed together. Next, a machine learning-based clustering process is performed to separate layout features in the set of layout regions into clusters of layout features based on the set of density feature vectors. Each of the clusters of layout features may be further divided into subclusters based on one or more properties.

    Abstract: Increasing resolution of liquid crystal displays may result in small distances between adjacent liquid crystal display pixels. This tight pixel spacing may reduce transmission through the liquid crystal display pixels and may result in cross-talk between the liquid crystal display pixels. To increase transmission and, correspondingly, display efficiency, a reflective layer may be included in the liquid crystal display. The reflective layer recycles backlight that may otherwise be absorbed, improving transmittance and efficiency. To reduce color shift and color mixing caused by cross-talk, the pixels may have their pixel electrodes arranged in a zigzag layout. Each pixel electrode may have a height that is less than or equal to the total height of the pixel divided by two. The pixel electrodes in a given row are also alternatingly coupled to first and second gate lines. This zigzag layout results in an increased distance between adjacent pixel electrodes, mitigating pixel cross-talk.
