    Abstract: Duo-binary encoding is used for encoding I and Q data prior to performing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based transmission using discrete Fourier transform spreading (DFT-S). Advantageously, duo-binary encoding improves robustness of the encoded signal to inter symbol interference, making the degradation caused by the subsequent DFT-S stage less susceptible to reduction in bit error rate performance.

The fuel flow control baffle further comprises a sheet assembly including a first sheet layer and a second sheet layer, perforations defining attenuation channels, extending through said first and second sheet layers through which moving fuel flows into the fuel flow control baffle and a web positioned between the sheet layers to maintain the layers in a separated, three-dimensional relationship, wherein the web operates to absorb the fluid energy/momentum of the moving fuel and to reverse the fuel flow back through the flow attenuation channels. The fuel control baffle can be easily varied in length to permit usage in multiple locations inside the same tank, and in other different tank designs.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to a mask plate, an exposure system comprising a mask plate and an exposing method. The mask plate comprises a light transmitting region, a light shielding region, and a light reflecting region for reflecting exposure light to the light shielding region, with the pattern of the light from the transmitting region and reflecting region corresponding to the pattern of the region exposed to a first and a second substrate respectively. When exposure light irradiates on the mask plate, it passes through the light transmitting region and exposes the first substrate. The light reflecting region reflects the exposure light to a principal reflection structure which further reflects the light for exposing the second substrate. The first and second substrate may be exposed via the same mask plate to minimize waste of exposure light to save production time and efficiency.

    Abstract: A thin-film flip-chip light emitting diode (LED) having a roughened surface and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. First, a substrate having a patterned structure on a surface of the substrate is provided, and the surface is roughened. A first semiconductor layer is then formed on the surface; a light emitting structure layer is then formed on the first semiconductor layer; a second semiconductor layer is then formed on the light emitting structure layer. The first and second semiconductor layers possess opposite electrical characteristics. A first contact electrode and a second contact electrode are then formed on the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer, respectively. Finally, a sub-mount is formed on the first and second contact electrodes, and the substrate is removed to form the thin-film flip-chip LED having the roughened surface. Here, the light emitting efficiency of the thin-film flip-chip LED is improved.

An optical receiver receives the half-cycle transmission OFDM symbol, regenerates the full time domain representation and recovers data modulated on the one-half of available subcarriers.
