    Abstract: A virtual service is instantiated from a service model that is operable to receive requests intended for a particular software component in a system and generate simulated responses of the particular software component based on a service model modeling responses of the particular software component. A particular request intended for the particular software component is identified that has been redirected to the virtual service and content of a simulated response to the particular request is generated using the virtual service in a first language. A second language to be applied to the simulated response is determined based on the request, and a translation of the content from the first language into the second language is determined. A modified version of the simulated response is sent to the other software component in response to the particular request that includes the content in the second language.

A method of controlling operation of the microgrid includes periodically updating a distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid that includes on/off status of the controllable distributed electric generators and charging/discharging status and rate of the electrical energy storage devices and which satisfies a first control objective for a defined time window, based at least in part on a renewable energy generation and load forecast for the microgrid. The method further includes periodically determining power set points for the controllable distributed energy resources which satisfy a second control objective for a present time interval within the defined time window, the second control objective being a function of at least the distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid.

The device includes: capturing module, determination module, first transcoding module and second transcoding module. The present invention has no need to decode H.264 video macro blocks to produce original video data, so the transcoding process can speed up and save time.

Power loss is reduced in the distribution system by determining discrete switch states for the capacitor banks and continuous set points for the distributed energy resources, so that the reactive power provided by the reactive power resources reduces power loss while optionally correcting voltage violations in the power distribution system when the capacitor banks are set in accordance with the respective discrete switch states and the distributed energy resources are operated at the respective continuous set points. The range of values for the continuous set points is constrained based on maximum and minimum reactive power limits for each distributed energy resource under consideration.
