    Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to detecting maximum permissible exposure (MPE) events and/or reporting the MPE event, related metrics, associated requests for beam switching or new time division duplexing (TDD) patterns, etc. In an aspect, a MPE event can be detected on at least one component carrier (CC) of multiple CCs configured with a first cell in inter-band carrier aggregation (CA), and one of a MPE report or a beam switching request can be transmitted to a second cell on a different CC of the multiple CCs. In another aspect, the cell can detect the MPE and can transmit, to the device, a beam switching command to switch to a new beam for uplink communications. In another aspect, the cell can transmitting, to another cell having another CC of the multiple CCs configured with the device, an indication to perform beam switching for the device.

In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) wireless device may detect an MPE condition associated with a cell in an uplink channel from the UE in the wireless communication network. The UE may configure a medium access control layer control element (MAC-CE) to indicate information related to the cell associated with the detected MPE condition and an alternative beam that avoids an MPE condition for use in uplink communications. The configured MAC-CE may include a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel resource block indicator (SSBRI) or a channel state information resource indicator (CRI) that indicates an alternative UE panel, a feasible UE panel, Tx beam for UL transmissions or Tx beam for UL transmissions taking into account the detected MPE condition.

The method includes determining a configuration of reference signal (RS) resources to be used by a user-equipment (UE) to perform beam measurements, transmitting, to the UE, an indication of the configuration of the RS resources, and receiving, from the UE, a report indicating a plurality of RS resource indicators based on the beam measurements, each of the RS resource indicators being associated with one of the RS resources. In some aspects, the BS selects a subset of the RS resources based on the report from the UE, transmits, to the UE, an indication to provide channel measurement information for the subset of the RS resources, and receives a report including the channel measurement information from the UE. The BS may also perform joint precoding of signals for transmission via the RS resources based on the channel measurement information.
