Abstract: A fire retardant ligno-cellulosic panel made from a mixture of (i) ligno-cellulosic material, (ii) at least one polymeric binder resin, and (iii) fire retardant solid particles containing fire retardant inorganic materials and a synthetic polymeric material, wherein the mixture is consolidated under heat and pressure to form the panel. Preferably, the fire retardant solid particles are a fine particle size sanding dust produced during the manufacture and finishing of synthetic particle filled resin materials.

Abstract: A fire retardant coating composition which comprises expandable graphite particles, a solid absorbent material, a polymeric binder, a carbonific material, a blowing agent, a solvent and a rheology modifier.
