Patent number: 8912467Abstract: A hair styler and its heating device which can heat the thermal storage piece inside the hair roller quickly to a desired temperature by electromagnetic heating. The thermal storage piece is made of high thermal conductivity material which absorbs heat quite quick and disposed inside the hair roller to prevent the hair from directly contacting the thermal storage piece during hair styling, consequently preventing the hair from being burned. Then a low thermal conductivity isolating layer retains the heat within the hair roller and enables the heat to be uniformly and constantly transmitted to the outer surface of the hair roller, providing an effect of low energy consumption and long-lasting heat. A temperature sensing piece is used to detect and indicate the temperature of the hair styler by using different colors, making it easier for the user to know the temperature of the hair styler.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2012Date of Patent: December 16, 2014Assignee: Manica Taiwan IncorporatedInventors: Rie Oishi, Feng-Chih Liao, Yen-Chin Cheng

Publication number: 20140116461Abstract: A heating apparatus for heating hair curlers is disposed in a housing and clamped by at least one hair clip. The heating apparatus comprises two assembling members and two thermal conductive members which are coupled one another and disposed on a base. Each of the thermal conductive members includes a heating member and an elastic piece for fixing the heating member. Above the assembling members and the thermal conductive members is disposed a cover. The two heating members are closely pushed against the thermal conductive layers of the hair clip, so as to reduce the length of heat transferring route, and consequently improving heating efficiency and enhancing temperature control accuracy. Furthermore, the heating apparatus has a simple structure and can be easily assembled at a low manufacturing cost.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2012Publication date: May 1, 2014Inventors: Rie OISHI, Feng-Chih Liao, Yen-Chin Cheng

Patent number: 8544478Abstract: A dual gas and AC electric hair styler comprises: a heater, a housing, and a control member movably disposed in the housing. One end of the control member is exposed out of the housing and another end of the control member is inserted in the housing to connect a linkage device of the heater. The linkage device includes a guiding member. A gas supply and an electric power supply are selectively inserted in the housing to the heater and each have a valve which is pressed to achieve connection. The axial movement of the control member causes axial movements of the linkage device and the guiding member to affect connection of the gas and the electric power supply to the heater. The hair styler can be powered by gas or electric power, and the switching of gas and electric power supplies can be done by the control member.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2011Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Manica-Taiwan IncorporatedInventors: Feng-Chih Liao, Yen-Chin Cheng

Publication number: 20090314766Abstract: A heating device with plural thermistors comprises a conductive unit and plural positive temperature coefficient thermistors with different heat generation efficiencies. The positive temperature coefficient thermistors are provided on the conductive unit. With the characteristic that the electric resistance decreases with the increase of temperature of the thermistors, the temperature of the heating device can be kept constant, and different heating temperatures can be produced by controlling the number of the acting thermistors.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2008Publication date: December 24, 2009Inventor: Feng-Chih Liao

Patent number: 6792692Abstract: A hair dryer includes an air outlet portion, a holding portion, a start switch, an airflow rate control switch, an airflow rate indication portion, an input power control switch, and an input power indication portion. Thus, when the user presses the start switch, the hair dryer will start to perform with its previous setting in memory for the airflow rate and its power input. And when the user presses the airflow rate control switch or the input power control switch, the system enters the manual control mode, and is forced into the safety mode immediately, so that the user can adjust the input power and the airflow rate according to the preset safety values, thereby achieving the safe requirement.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2003Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Manica-Thai Corp., LtdInventors: Noriaki Takizawa, Feng-Chih Liao

Publication number: 20030074804Abstract: A hair dryer includes a housing having an air inlet, an air outlet, a motor, an impeller having a plurality of blades, and a heating device. A motor fixing seat is mounted in the housing for securing the motor. The motor and the motor fixing seat are fixed in a distal end of an inner wall of the housing and located adjacent to the air inlet, and the impeller is located between the motor and the heating device. Thus, the motor only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so that the pressure of the air flow exerted on the impeller is very small, thereby producing a much smaller shear stress on the impeller, and thereby causing smaller noise.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2001Publication date: April 24, 2003Inventor: Feng-Chih Liao
