Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, and more particularly to a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the motor only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so that the pressure of the air flow exerted on the blades is very small, thereby producing a much smaller shear stress on the blades, and thereby causing smaller noise.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] A conventional hair dryer in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 1 comprises a housing 90 having an air inlet 901 and an air outlet 902, and a plurality of blades 92, a motor 91, and a heating device 93 mounted between the air inlet 901 and the air outlet 902. A motor fixing seat 910 is mounted in the housing 90 for securing the motor 91, and a plurality of air guide vanes 911 are mounted in the motor fixing seat 910. The blades 92 are located adjacent to the air inlet 901.

[0005] In operation, the blades 92 may be rotated by the motor 91, so that the air flow produced by rotation of the blades 92 may be introduced into the air inlet 901 to pass through the air guide vanes 911 and the blades 92, and may then be heated by the heating device 93, and may finally be drained outward through the air outlet 902.

[0006] Referring to FIG. 4, the graph of the distance versus pressure of the air flow of each of the parts of the conventional hair dryer is shown.

[0007] The pressure of the air flow at the air outlet 902 is maintained at V0, the pressure drop of the heating device 93 is Va, the pressure drop of the front edge of the motor fixing seat 910 and air guide vanes 911 is Vb, the pressure drop of the two end faces of the motor fixing seat 910 is Vc, and the pressure drop between the motor fixing seat 910 and the blades 92 is Vd. Thus, the motor 91 needs to produce a total pressure so as to drive the blades 92 to rotate, which is equal to V0+Va+Vb+Vc+Vd. Therefore, the motor 91 needs to produce a high pressure of air flow, so that the pressure of the air flow exerted on the air guide vanes 911 is very large, and the large pressure of the air flow is directly exerted on the blades 92, thereby producing a large shear stress on the blades 92, and thereby causing great noise.

[0008] In addition, the motor 91 needs to produce a large pressure so as to drive the blades 92 to rotate, thereby causing consumption of energy.

[0009] Further, the motor 91 needs to produce a large pressure so as to drive the blades 92 to rotate, so that the motor 91 and the blades 92 need to use a larger and stronger material, thereby increasing cost of fabrication.

[0010] Further, the conventional hair dryer usually comprises five to seven blades 92, so that the blades 92 will shear the air flow five to seven times per unit time, so that the instantaneous air flow shearing amount is very large, thereby increasing the noise during operation.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0011] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantage of the conventional hair dryer.

[0012] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the motor only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so that the pressure of the air flow exerted on the blades is very small, thereby producing a much smaller shear stress on the blades, and thereby causing smaller noise.

[0013] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the motor only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so as to drive the blades to rotate, thereby preventing from causing consumption of energy.

[0014] A further objective of the present invention is to provide a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the motor only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so as to drive the blades to rotate, so that the motor and the blades may employ a material having a smaller size and strength, thereby decreasing cost of fabrication.

[0015] A further objective of the present invention is to provide a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the hair dryer has a smaller and miniature size.

[0016] A further objective of the present invention is to provide a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier, wherein the number of the blades may be reduced and the area of each blade may be increased, thereby decreasing the air flow shearing times and increasing the air flow guide rate, so that the hair dryer may have the same air flow rate as the conventional hair dryer, thereby relatively decreasing the air resistance and the noise during operation.

[0017] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a hair dryer, comprising:

[0018] a housing having an air inlet, an air outlet, and a motor, an impeller having a plurality of blades and a heating device mounted between the air inlet and the air outlet, a motor fixing seat mounted in the housing for securing the motor in the housing, and a plurality of air guide vanes mounted in the motor fixing seat, wherein:

[0019] the motor and the motor fixing seat are fixed in a distal end of an inner wall of the housing and located adjacent to the air inlet, and the impeller is located between the motor and the heating device.

[0020] Optimally, the impeller includes three blades arranged in an equally divided manner each having a large area.

[0021] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0026] FIG. 5 is a plan cross-sectional view of a hair dryer having blades that are located at a mediate position of the hair drier in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0027] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIG. 2, a hair dryer in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a housing 10 having an air inlet 11 and an air outlet 12. The hair dryer also comprises a motor 20, an impeller 30 having a plurality of blades 31, and a heating device 40 mounted between the air inlet 11 and the air outlet 12.

[0028] A motor fixing seat 21 is mounted in the housing 10 for securing the motor 20 in the housing 10, and a plurality of air guide vanes 22 are mounted in the motor fixing seat 21.

[0029] The impeller 30 is mounted on and rotated by the motor 20. The impeller 30 is preferably located between the motor 20 and the heating device 40. The motor 20 and the motor fixing seat 21 are fixed in a distal end of an inner wall of the housing 10 and located adjacent to the air inlet 11.

[0030] In operation, the impeller 30 may be rotated by the motor 20, so that the air flow produced by rotation of the impeller 30 may be introduced into the air inlet 11 to pass through the air guide vanes 22, and may be pressurized by the air guide vanes 22. Then, the pressurized air flow is heated by the heating device 40, and may be introduced outward through the air outlet 12.

[0031] Referring to FIG. 3, the impeller 30 optimally includes three blades 31 mating with the design of a large area. The height of each blade 31 is about 1.2 to 1.5 times of that of the conventional blade, and the arc length of each blade 31 is about 1.2 to 1.8 times of that of the conventional blade, so that the area of each blade 31 is about 1.4 to 2.7 times of that of the conventional blade. Thus, the stirred air flow rate may be increased by decreasing the number of the blades 31. The optimal number of the blades 31 is three, so that the instantaneous air flow rate sheared by the blades 31 per unit time may be greatly reduced, thereby decreasing the noise during operation.

[0032] Referring to FIG. 4, the graph of the distance versus pressure of the air flow of each of the parts of the hair dryer of the present invention is shown.

[0033] The pressure of the air flow at the air outlet 12 is maintained at V0, the pressure drop of the heating device 40 is Va, and the pressure drop between the heating device 40 and the impeller 30 is Vb′.

[0034] Thus, the motor 20 needs to produce a total pressure so as to drive the impeller 30 to rotate, which is equal to V0+Va+Vb′. Therefore, the total pressure that the motor 20 of the hair dryer of the present invention needs to produce is much smaller than that of the motor 91 of the conventional hair dryer.

[0035] In comparison, the total pressure that the motor 20 of the hair dryer of the present invention needs to produce is equal to V0+Va+Vb′, and the total pressure that the motor 91 of the conventional hair dryer needs to produce is equal to V0+Va+Vb+Vc+Vd, wherein Vb′ is slightly smaller than Vb. Thus, the motor 20 only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so that the pressure of the air flow exerted on the impeller 30 is very small, thereby producing a much smaller shear stress on the impeller 30, and thereby causing smaller noise. The three blades 31 may reduce the instantaneous air flow rate sheared by the blades 31 per unit time, thereby decreasing the noise during operation.

[0036] In addition, the motor 20 only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so as to drive the impeller 30 to rotate, thereby preventing from causing consumption of energy.

[0037] Further, the motor 20 only need to produce a much smaller pressure of air flow, so as to drive the impeller 30 to rotate, so that the motor 20 and the impeller 30 may employ a material having a smaller size and strength, thereby decreasing cost of fabrication.

[0038] Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the impeller 30 is located between the motor 20 and the heating device 40. In such a manner, the total length of the hair dryer of the present invention is equal to A+B′+C, and is approximately equal to A+B. In comparison, the total length of the conventional hair dryer is greater than A+B+C. Thus, the hair dryer of the present invention has a smaller and miniature size.

[0039] Referring to FIG. 5, in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention, an arcuate guide flange 210 is mounted on the motor fixing seat 21 and directed toward the air inlet 11, so that the shear stress of the air flow of the hair dryer is smaller, thereby increasing the air flow rate introduced into the air inlet 11 of the hair dryer.

[0040] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
