  • Publication number: 20120040464
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method, which comprises allowing a eukaryotic cell to come into contact with a reactive oxygen species or a chemical species that generates such a reactive oxygen species in the cell, and thereby changing the percentage of mutant mtDNA (mitochondrial genomic DNA) in the cell, and cells obtained by the above-described method. The present invention relates to a method, which comprises allowing cells to come into contact with a reactive oxygen species by, for example, adding the reactive oxygen species such as hydrogen peroxide to a medium containing the cells, and then culturing the cells under suitable culture conditions, so that the percentage of mtDNA having specific mutation in the cell can be changed. In addition, the present invention also relates to cells, in which the percentage of the mtDNA having specific mutation has been changed by the above-described method.

  • Publication number: 20090177456
Abstract: In a method, system and computer readable medium for determining a composite circuit model of a 3D geometry, first and second sides of an analytical model of the 3D geometry are discretize into first and second surface and/or volume meshes. For each mesh, a current that flows in each cell thereof and the a voltage induced in the cell in response to the application of an exemplary bias to the geometry are determined. For each mesh, from the currents flowing in the cells thereof and voltages induced in the cells thereof, a corresponding circuit model is determined. The circuit models of the meshes are then combined to form a composite circuit model for the geometry.

  • Publication number: 20090080768
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recognition method for images by probing alimentary canals. First, series first image data is received. Then, according to a plurality of judgments, judge if the first image data exceeds a threshold value. If so, the image data is stored and second image data is inputted for recognition. Thereby, by the plurality of judgments with partially identical characteristics, multiple diseases can be recognized at a time, and repeated operation can be eliminated and the processing time be reduced. In addition, by integrating different recognition methods, the amount of system operation can be reduced, and the operation speed can be thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 7474255
Abstract: The present invention relates to a target tracking method of radar with frequency modulated continuous wave, which transmits a transmitted signal to receive a return wave of the transmitted signal that is used for detecting the target and obtaining the relative distance between the target and the radar. The target tracking method includes transmitting a frequency modulated continuous wave and receiving the reflected wave; getting a reflected wave corresponding to the target by detecting the reflected wave; getting a range gate error by seeking the plurality of the range gates corresponding to the reflected wave; and getting a position and a speed of the target at next time by knowing the position of the target at present time basis of the range gate error. • Publication number: 20080074643
Abstract: This invention takes advantages of color characteristics of medical devices for the cosmetic and indication purposes. For example, the appearances of the metallic brackets used in orthodontics are improved with colors other than the original metallic color by surface treatment using plasma techniques. For example, orthodontic brackets are made with piezochromic materials. When the archwire's torsion and bending forces are fading due to the movement of the teeth, the color of the pressure sensitive brackets will be changed, and the need of archwire's readjustment to have proper torsion and bending forces is signalized. For example, rehabilitation equipments are made with piezochromic materials. When the pressures exerting on the rehabilitation equipments are different, different colors of the equipments are displayed, and the therapists can then act accordingly.
