Abstract: A storage medium player includes a base defining a medium-receiving area, a driving device mounted in the base for driving a medium, a cover pivotably attached to the base adjacent one side of the medium-receiving area, and a safety device mounted in the base adjacent an opposite side of the medium-receiving area. The safety device is capable of being switched between an activated state and a deactivated state upon pivoting the cover with respect to the base. When the cover is closed, the safety device is in the activated state and the driving device is enabled. When the cover is open, the safety device is in the deactivated state and the driving device is disabled.

Abstract: A casing (10) for a disk player includes a housing (12), a lid (14) movable with respect to said housing between an open position and a closed position, and a resilient member (64). The housing houses a disk playing mechanism of said disk player, and defines two cavities (620, 622) and a buffer (624). The lid has a supporting member (60) being extendable into a first one of the cavities and being engageable with said buffer so as to buffer movement of said lid with respect to said housing. The resilient member is installed in a second one of the cavities, so as to resiliently provide movement of said lid with respect to said housing.

Abstract: A power controller, which is used for a pivotable display device, includes an actuator configured so as to be fixed with respect to a rotating axis of the display device; and a toggle switch configured for controlling electric power of the display device. The toggle switch is configured so as to be fixed to the display device, and includes a switch body and a toggle lever. The toggle lever rockably extends from the switch body for being pushed by the actuator to cut off electric power of the display device at a predetermined position of the display device.

Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a hinge shaft. The hinge shaft includes a first shaft end and an opposite second shaft end. A blind hole axially extends a predetermined length from the first shaft end toward the second shaft end for partially accommodating and guiding a flexible cable, the portion of the flexible cable received in the blind hole is substantially configured to be spiral. A releasing slot for the flexible cable to pass therethrough axially extends in a wall portion of the hinge shaft and communicates with the blind hole.

The upper housing integrally forms at least one first clamping part abutting the top end of the damper. The lower housing mounts onto the bottom end of the component. The lower housing integrally forms at least one second clamping part abutting the bottom end of the damper wherein one of the first clamping part and the second clamping part extends through the center hole of the corresponding damper.

Abstract: A method and mobile communication device capable of resuming operating function of a temporarily disable SIM (subscriber identity module) card are provided. The SIM card is disposed in a mobile equipment (ME), in which a code verification state of the SIM card is recorded. When the code verification state is “verification required” state, the ME records an original personal identification number (PIN)/PIN unlock key (PIN/PUK) code corresponding to the SIM card. The method includes the steps of executing a SIM card start-up procedure; determining whether the code verification state of PIN/PUK code is the same with the state stored in the ME and whether a PIN/PUK code re-read from the SIM card is the same with the original one; and determining whether the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) value re-read from the SIM card is the same with original one: if so, resume and re-use the SIM card.

Abstract: A mobile communication device has a storage module for storing at least a first format and a conversion rule associated with the first format, a receiving module for receiving a first ring tone data, a processor electrically connected to the storage module and the receiving module for determining whether the first ring tone data comply with the first format, and a conversion module electrically connected to the processor and the storage module for converting the first ring tone data complying with the first format into a second ring tone data complying with a second format according to the conversion rule. When the first ring tone data comply with the first format, the conversion module is activated to generate the second ring tone data so that the mobile communication device can play a ring tone according to the second ring tone data.
