  • Publication number: 20150084809
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a method of measuring and profiling a process liquid in a process vessel. The process liquid includes an emulsion layer between two media of differing dielectric constants. An electromagnetic signal is generated and transmitted along a probe, defining a transmission line, extending into the vessel. The transmission line comprises a conductor in contact with the process liquid with an insulating coating on the conductor to maximize signal penetration in the process liquid. A reflected signal is received from the transmission line and a programmed controller is operatively connected to the probe for measuring characteristics of reflected signal energy along the transmission line for profiling the emulsion layer.

  • Patent number: 8977061
Abstract: A method for merging face clusters includes analyzing a set of digital images, grouping instances of faces within the set of digital images into a set of face clusters, each of the face clusters corresponding to a particular person, and determining a probability that a person associated with a first face cluster from the set of face clusters is the same person associated with a second face cluster of the set of face clusters. The probability is based on both a social similarity between the first face cluster and the second face cluster in addition to a facial similarity between the first face cluster and the second face cluster.

  • Patent number: 8913847
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a system and a method that use a background model to determine and to segment target content from an image and replace them with different content to provide a composite image. The background model can be generated based on image data representing images of a predetermined area that does not include traversing content. The background model is compared to image data representing a set of captured images of the predetermined area. Based on the comparison, portions of an image that differs from the background model are determined as the traversing content. A target content model is used to determine the target content in the traversing content. The target content determined in the images is replaced with different content to provide a composite image.

  • Publication number: 20140085133
Abstract: A radar transmitter for emulsion measurement comprises a probe defining a transmission line for sensing impedance. A pulse circuit is connected to the probe for generating pulses on the transmission line and receiving a reflected signal from the transmission line. The reflected signal comprises a waveform of probe impedance over time. A controller is operatively connected to the pulse circuit. The controller profiles content of the emulsion responsive to the waveform by transforming the waveform into impedance relative to distance, converting the transformed waveform into effective dielectric relative to distance, determining mixture content of the emulsion at select distances responsive to the effective dielectric at the select distances and developing an output representing mixture content relative to level units.

  • Publication number: 20130259374
Abstract: In one implementation, an image segmentation system defines a first discriminative classifier and a second discriminative classifier. The first discriminative classifier is associated with a first segment of an object in an image based on a first foreground sample region of the image and a first background sample region of the image. • Patent number: 8548237
Abstract: A local image patch identified in an image is divided into respective sub-patches of respective image forming elements. For each of the respective image forming elements in the local image patch, a respective ordinal rank of the image forming element is determined, and respective contributions of the image forming element to a particular one of the respective sub-patches containing the image forming element and to one or more other ones of the respective sub-patches neighboring the particular sub-patch are ascertained. Each ordinal rank corresponds to a respective dimension of an ordinal rank feature space. For each of the respective sub-patches of the local image patch, a respective histogram of ascertained contributions of the image forming elements in the ordinal rank feature space is built. A respective feature vector representing the local image patch is generated from the respective histograms built for the sub-patches of the local image.

  • Patent number: 8543964
Abstract: Functionality can be implemented for optimizing connection constraints in an integrated circuit design. A target timing path associated with a first of a plurality of sub-connections of the integrated circuit is determined. A timing probability value and a route probability value associated with the first of the plurality of sub-connections is determined based, at least in part, on the target timing path associated with the first of the plurality of sub-connections. The timing probability value indicates a probability that timing closure is satisfied on the target timing path. The route probability value indicates a probability that a physical routing track on the target timing path associated with the first of the plurality of sub-connections resolves congestion. A current connection constraint associated with the first of the plurality of sub-connections is modified in accordance with a connection constraint model to which the first of the plurality of sub-connections corresponds.
