  • Publication number: 20110131246
Abstract: A computer implemented method, computer-readable medium and system for deciding which external corpora, such as verticals, to integrate into primary Internet search engine results in response to a query is disclosed. Offline query-related data and user feedback data is incorporated. A probabilistic estimate is formed of the relevance of the verticals to the query.

  • Publication number: 20100161591
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for determining a prediction measurement, or measure, using geo-spatial information which can be used to determine whether or not to include type of information in search results. The prediction measurement comprises a measure of the likelihood that an item of the type of information for which the prediction measure is determined will be selected, or clicked on, by a user, if the item of the type of information is included in the search result. Without limitation, one such information type is news.

  • Patent number: 7577651
Abstract: In certain implementations, a system and/or method is provided for providing search results in response to a search query. In this implementation a temporal profile of the search query is built from temporal data associated with documents retrieved in response to the search query. From features of the temporal profile it may determined whether the search query would benefit from relevance feedback from a user. If there is a determination that the search query will benefit from the relevance feedback, relevance feedback is sought from the user. Search results are provided based on the relevance feedback.

  • Patent number: 7476511
Abstract: A large part of cytostatics, among them paclitaxel (Taxol®) and other recently discovered substances that mimic its antitumour effects, have cellular microtubules as their target. The present invention is a high-efficiency homogeneous test based on the use of stabilised microtubules and fluorescent taxoids for detecting any substances that can substitute paclitaxel in its binding site in microtubules, and constituting potentially anticancerous agents.

  • Patent number: 6361134
Abstract: The flat bed raster drawing machine is controlled automatically, includes a flat table to bear a flexible material, such as paper, fixed guides on which a carriage moves perpendicular to the lengthwise axis of the flexible material between the aforementioned guides, and a second carriage bearing the pin printer array type head that moves over the preceding one, in the direction of the lengthwise axis of the paper. The paper is moved in a controlled manner on the table parallel to its lengthwise axis.

  • Patent number: 5986801
Abstract: An inverting and reversing prism system for a stereo microscope having an optical longitudinal axis and left and right eye viewing systems having left and right longitudinal axes, respectively, along which left and right beam paths are transmitted, respectively, comprising: at least four reflecting surfaces (13, 15, 16, 13A and 13A, 15A, 16A, 13) in each beam path (14, 14A), two of the reflecting surfaces (13, 13A and 13A, 13) in each beam path comprising inlet and outlet surfaces, respectively, for deflecting the beam path by 90.degree., the inlet and outlet surfaces in each beam path being oriented 45.degree. relative to the optical longitudinal axis of the microscope and 90.degree. relative to each other, with a line of intersection (26) of planes containing the inlet and outlet surfaces in each beam path defining an angle of 45.degree.

  • Patent number: 5211523
Abstract: An assembly for the controlled programmed handling of articles includes autoguided and robotized vehicles and a plurality of work stations and storage areas. There is a computer communication system between a host computer, the vehicles, and the work and storage areas. The vehicles have manipulator devices to move articles from the vehicle to the work stations and storage areas and vice versa. The work stations include a receiving area, a work area, and an output area with detector devices for detecting articles in each area and for communicating same to the computer. Each vehicle has a non-traction wheel and an encoder device communicating with the non-traction wheel for converting rotation of the non-traction wheel into distance travelled by the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4878577
Abstract: A peg is provided for use in overhead conveyors for carrying trousers between work stations in an industrial pressing process. The body of the peg comprises an elongated rigid base having preferably two inverted V-shaped plates and twp strips secured thereto. An elongated rectangular prism, having two contact surfaces, is located within the legs of the inverted V-shaped plates and is secured by means of handles passing through each of the strips. A respective contact surface of the rectangular prism can be tilted from one of the legs of the inverted V-shaped plates to the other. A cylindrical rod is attached at one end to the rigid base by means that enable the rod and the peg body to rotate independently against each other. The other end of the rod is in the form of a hook which is connected to the overhead conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4835872
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively drawing patterns on paper sheet or scoring patterns on plastic sheet which includes a table support, a sheet feeding assembly at one end of the table support and a sheet collecting assembly at the other end of the table support. A movable tool support carries a drawing instrument and a scoring instrument above the table support and an automatic data controlled system is connected thereto for moving the tool support in any direction to draw on or score the sheet material supported on the table support. The sheet material is advanced by grippers mounted on the movable tool support and spinners are supported on the sheet material at either end of the table support for operating a motor attached to the sheet collecting assembly and a brake attached to the sheet feeding assembly.
