  • Publication number: 20170268208
Abstract: A faucet system for providing adjustable water flow is provided. The system includes hot and cold water valves operable to respectively control a flow of hot and cold water, a sensor pad with substantially continuous sensing axes, and a controller in communication with the sensor pad and operatively connected to the hot and cold water valves. The controller processes user gestures detected using the sensor pad to determine a selected flow temperature or a selected flow magnitude from a substantially continuous range of possible values, and operate the hot and cold water valves to attain the selected flow temperature or the selected flow magnitude. A method is also provided for operating the same, along with a kit for retrofitting existing faucet assemblies in order to form a faucet system.

  • Patent number: 9112457
Abstract: A non-linear digital filtering process is provided whereby slew rate limitation-like phenomena in analog circuitry are compensated. Particularly, a reduction of the signal amplitude with respect to the theoretical size of the signal if linearity had held is avoided. A correct phase is re-established. Customized linear filtering, up-sampling, and down-sampling before and after the non-linear digital processing minimizes the creation of harmonics. The inventive system and method for non-linear processing has few parameters and it is not limited to a polynomial series. A dedicated calibration method is also provided to adapt the value of the parameter for a precise compensation of the right amount of slew rate limitation or other similar compression. Furthermore, a calibration method is shown to adjust existing DSP filtering to accomplish a precise desired filtering even when non-linear corrections may be arbitrarily large.

  • Patent number: 8101085
Abstract: Described is a process for treating an animal husbandry effluent slurry, such as hog manure, containing suspended solid particles. The process includes a) providing a liquid portion of the effluent, b) diluting the liquid to a Newtonian fluid, c) assuring the pH is under 10, d) adding to the fluid i) a soluble salt of alkaline earth metal (e.g. CaCl2) and ii) an insoluble basic salt of the same alkaline earth metal (e.g. CaCO3) to balance available cations and promote agglomeration of the suspended solid particles, e) adding a cationic coagulant to obtain a pre-treated destabilized colloid mixture with zero zeta potential value, and f) performing electroflotation to obtain a treated liquid and floated solids.

  • Patent number: 7957938
Abstract: A method of digitizing an analog signal is provided, comprising the steps of separating the analog signal spanning a frequency range into a plurality of frequency bands, and then translating at least one of the signals to a lower frequency band in accordance with a local oscillator and digitizing the at least one translated signal with digitizing elements having a frequency range less than the analog signal frequency range. A fixed relationship of the phase of the local oscillator and a repetitive signal generated in accordance with a writing to a circular buffer of the digitized representation of the at least one of the plurality of frequency bands is then defined. Signals corresponding to the other of the plurality of frequency bands are digitized and written to corresponding circular buffers. Finally, a digital representation of the analog signal is formed from the digitized signals.

  • Publication number: 20090093986
Abstract: A method for correcting feed through signals for use with an oscilloscope employing Digital Bandwidth Interleaving is provided. The method comprises the steps of converting an original signal to a frequency other than an original frequency of the original signal, determining one or more feed through signals not converted with the original signal, providing an offsetting correction signal and combining the converted signal, the non-converted feed through signal, and the offsetting correction signal.

  • Publication number: 20090002213
Abstract: A method of digitizing an analog signal is provided, comprising the steps of separating the analog signal spanning a frequency range into a plurality of frequency bands, each frequency band spanning a corresponding predefined frequency range, at least a portion of each of the plurality of corresponding frequency ranges not overlapping any other of the plurality of corresponding predefined frequency ranges and then translating at least one of the signals in the plurality of frequency bands to a lower frequency band in accordance with a local oscillator and digitizing the at least one translated signal with digitizing elements having a frequency range less than the analog signal frequency range. A fixed relationship of the phase of the local oscillator and a repetitive signal generated in accordance with a writing to a circular buffer of the digitized representation of the at least one of the plurality of frequency bands is then defined.
