  • Publication number: 20120090316
Abstract: Braking system comprising a brake booster (200) with electric motor driving the push rod (130) of the piston of the master cylinder (100) via a ball-screw connection and actuated by a control rod (230). In the casing (201) connected to the master cylinder (100), the brake booster (200) comprises an actuator piston (220) guided in translational movement by at least two guide pins (311) which are parallel to the axis (XX) of the master cylinder (100) and which is driven in translational movement by a ball screw (225, 226) of which the screw (225), driven by the motor (210), is offset with respect to the axis (XX) of the master cylinder (100). The screw collaborates with a nut (226) translationally as one with the actuator piston (220), and a bore (221) of the actuator piston (220) receives a boost piston (250) equipped with a reaction disc (240) and with a plunger piston (232) connected to the control rod (230).

  • Patent number: 8156740
Abstract: The invention relates to a master cylinder (1) with reduced free travel (23). Current master cylinders have a free travel during the displacement of a piston (6) in a bore (5) of a master cylinder body (3). Such a free travel may be reduced with the aid of a frustoconical portion (24) in the piston, an orifice (14) for communication of hydraulic fluid being situated on said inclined wall, a gap (26) between the inclined wall and an inner wall (12) of the bore allowing a passage for hydraulic fluid capable of filling a pressure chamber (4). However, such inclined walls create a change in the slope of an outer wall (29) of the piston, this change being able to cause a separation of an inner lip (19) of a sealing cup (17). To prevent this separation, the invention provides that the inclined wall forms a convex rounded surface (32).

  • Publication number: 20110094218
Abstract: Brake installation consisting of a master cylinder associated with a brake booster furnished with a motor driving an actuator piston and acting on the primary piston of the master cylinder by means of a reaction disk against which the piston rests. For a safety operation, the hydraulic actuator connected to the control rod actuated by the brake pedal rests on the rear face of the reaction disk. The actuator piston is combined with an auxiliary piston in order to interact with the reaction disk and it is guided by its sleeve-shaped portion in a bore of the body of the brake booster. An adapting shim is supported by the auxiliary piston in order to receive as a support the end of a rear rod, secured to the primary piston of the master cylinder. The thickness of the assembly formed by the adapting shim and the auxiliary piston is defined on mounting of the master cylinder and of the brake booster as a function of the free travel measured previously.
