    Abstract: A method is provided for rendering a scene including a digital three-dimensional (3D) model of a structure. The method includes traversing a scene graph composed of a hierarchical group of nodes representing respective 3D objects of the digital 3D model, and selecting nodes of the hierarchical group of nodes. The method includes adding a plurality of objects represented by the selected nodes to a render queue, performing a multiple-pass rendering of the plurality of 3D objects from the render queue. This includes in a pass of a plurality of passes, rendering a threshold portion but not all of the plurality of 3D objects to a framebuffer for output to a display device, with at least one of the plurality of 3D objects being left in the render queue after rendering the threshold portion. The method may also include a mesh simplification and/or z-occlusion.

    Abstract: A color eye-mounted display typically contains different color light emitters, with red, green and blue being the most common color combination. In one approach, the resolution of the red, green and blue components is not the same. For example, there may be more individually addressable red or green subpixels than blue subpixels. In hardware, this may be implemented by using fewer blue light emitters. Alternately, there may be equal numbers of red, green and blue light emitters, but the blue light emitters are not individually addressable and are grouped together to form larger blue subpixels. For example, three or more blue light emitters may form one addressable blue subpixel.

    Abstract: A method is provided for treating a patient suffering from apoptosis of tissue comprising administering to that subject a therapeutically effective amount of one or more ketogenic compounds such that a physiological ketosis is produced sufficient to arrest said apoptosis. Preferably the apoptosis is of cerebral tissue such as that associated with acute intractible seizures, particularly with status epilepticus. The method is also applicable to apoptosis associated with administration of topic stuimuli for treatment of cancer, that produced by viral infections, autoimmune diseases or Aquired Immuno Defficiency Syndrome. The ketosis produced is a state in which levels of one or both of acetoacetate and (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate concentrations in the mood of the subject such that their total concentration in the blood is elevated above the normal fed levels to between 0.1 and 30 mM.

    Abstract: The proteasome inhibitors of this invention include peptide-based compounds with a short linear sequence of amino acids. An oxo or thio group is attached to the N-terminal amino acid. A protein-reactive electrophilic group such as an epoxyketone, an aziridinylketone, or a beta-lactone is attached to the C-terminal amino acid. Upon contact with a proteasome complex in a target cell, the electrophilic group reacts with a functional group in or near a binding pocket or active site of the proteasome, forming a covalent bond and thereby inactivating the proteasome. These and other proteasome inhibitors can be screened for binding affinity and an ability to selectively eliminate senescent cells or cancer cells. Compounds that selectively remove senescent cells can be developed for the treatment of conditions such as osteoarthritis, ophthalmic disease, pulmonary disease, and atherosclerosis.

A low flow setpoint system may be configured to arrest closing of a filling valve when that filling valve is partially closed. A pressure control system may be configured to maintain a desired pressure in a reservoir or in a flow path from that reservoir.     Abstract: A system and method for optimizing a ribbon ion beam in a beam line implantation system is disclosed. The system includes a mass resolving apparatus having a resolving aperture, in which the resolving aperture may be moved in the X and Z directions. Additionally, a controller is able to manipulate the mass analyzer and quadrupole lenses so that the crossover point of desired ions can also be moved in the X and Z directions. By manipulating the crossover point and the resolving aperture, the parameters of the ribbon ion beam may be manipulated to achieve a desired result. Movement of the crossover point in the X direction may affect the mean horizontal angle of the beamlets, while movement of the crossover point in the Z direction may affect the horizontal angular spread and beam current.

A digital microscope or other imaging device can be associated with a sample chamber containing cell, tissue, or other sample material.
