  • Publication number: 20190340282
Abstract: Techniques and solutions are described for facilitating the distribution of tables and table data between a shared container and one or more tenant containers. The tables can include a sharing indicator that can designate a table (or a view on a table) as having a materializable type. Materializable types can initially be deployed in the shared container, and a tenant container can have read access to the table via a view. If the tenant attempts to modify the materializable table, the table can be materialized in the tenant container. Metadata for a materializable table can include materialization instructions. Techniques and solutions are also provided for converting between sharing types, and for updating shared containers or table schemas.

  • Publication number: 20190298920
Abstract: An electronic insulin delivery device receives glucose data from a glucose monitor and sets a bolus dose amount. The device may take the form of an insulin pen with automatic priming and accurate dosing provided by a motor in connection with an encoder. The device may communicate with and be controlled by a smart phone device. • Patent number: 10195344
Abstract: A valve (10) for permitting mixing of at least two components within a barrel (12) is provided including a stopper (20) configured for slidable liquid-tight engagement with an inner surface (13) of the barrel. The stopper is moveable between a first position and a second position and includes a proximal end (22), a distal end (24), and a channel (26) extending therebetween. The valve further includes a stationary body (30) comprising a base (32) and a stem (34), the stem being disposed within the channel of the stopper when the stopper is in the second position. When the stopper is in the first position, there is a liquid-tight seal in the channel, such that fluid flow through the channel is prevented. Movement of the stopper to the second position terminates the liquid-tight seal, thereby establishing fluid communication through the channel. A drug containing device and assembly for delivering a reconstituted drug are also provided herein.

  • Patent number: 10180342
Abstract: A method of level finding includes providing characteristics of a shape of a transmitted pulse in time domain launched onto a waveguide into a tank having at least one material therein, physical properties of the waveguide and real and imaginary dielectric characteristics of the material at a frequency of the pulse. A level finding algorithm having a coarse search and a fine search is implemented, where the coarse search minimizes a prediction error between an echo signal (echo curve y(k)) and a sampled pulse model echo p(k) to obtain an objective function J(k) in a vicinity of a minimum prediction error (k*). The fine search calculates at least one minimum or maximum using J(k) in the vicinity of k*. The minimum or the maximum corresponds to a level of the material or an interface involving the material.

  • Publication number: 20180253473
Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for using declarative rules for optimized access to data. One example method includes receiving a structured query language (SQL) query, the SQL query associated with at least one database table and at least one predicate. A determination is made as to whether the SQL query is associated with at least one declarative rule based on the at least one database table and the at least one predicate. In response to determining that the SQL query is associated with at least one declarative rule, the at least one associated declarative rule is applied, during optimization of the SQL query. The at least one declarative rule defines a transformation to the SQL query to be performed during query optimization. An updated SQL query is generated based on the applied at least one associated declarative rule and the updated SQL query is provided.

  • Patent number: 10055519
Abstract: A method of pulsed radar interface determination for a first and second material in a tank. An interface level determination model is provided including a transfer function that utilizes refractive indices for the materials and thickness of the second material. At least one actual radar pulse is transmitted into the tank and a resulting echo curve portion including a measured interface pulse(s) around the interface location is measured. The interface model is simulated with a reference pulse and an initial thickness value to generate an initial model generated interface pulse (initial MGIP). The measured interface pulse is compared to the initial MGIP pulse point-by-point to determine residuals. If the residuals sum >a predetermined threshold, the comparing is repeated with an updated interface model generated with an updated thickness value that provides an updated MGIP pulse. When the sum of residuals is ?predetermined threshold, the thickness is determined.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention include a method and system for metering an electrical grid comprising at least one processor executing instructions from a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of an electrical grid fault detection system. In some embodiments of the system, the instructions cause a processor to calculate a prediction of whether power delivery to at least a portion of the electrical grid is functioning abnormally using voltage sensing devices coupled to at least one feeder, where one or more of the voltage sensing devices are responsive to a determination that the power delivery is functioning abnormally. Further in some embodiments, the determination includes the electrical grid fault detection system receiving at least one signal or voltage reading from the electrical grid based at least in part on a sensed or received voltage level or range of voltage level.

  • Patent number: 9927366
Abstract: Continuous on-line thin film measurements employ a sensor having a spectrometer for interferometric measurements and a stack of single channel detectors for adsorption measurements. The stack is separated from the spectrometer, which analyzes radiation that emerges (transmitted pass or reflected from) the film, whereas the stack analyzes radiation that has passed through the film multiple times. The spectrometer is (i) positioned directly opposite the source of radiation so that it detects transmitted radiation or (ii) disposed on the same side of the film as is the source of radiation so that the spectrometer detects radiation that is specularly reflected from the film. The sensor includes a broadband radiation source emitting visible to far infrared light which propagates through a measurement cell defined by reflective surfaces exhibiting Lambertian-type scattering. The sensor is capable of measuring thin plastic films with thicknesses down to 1 micron or less.

  • Patent number: 9704457
Abstract: A reverse-pull and double-down pressure bridge configuration for a stringed instrument is used to integrate a set of retrofit strings into the instrument. The retrofit strings are tethered between the bridge plate of the instrument and the back end of the instrument so that the retrofit strings are able to apply a reverse pull on a soundboard of the instrument and compress the saddle, the bridge, and the soundboard of the instrument. The retrofit strings are configured to counteract the forward pull applied on the soundboard by the original strings of the instrument.
