    Abstract: A signal distribution architecture for clock and reset signal distribution in a programmable array is disclosed. The architecture includes separate networks for distributing clock and reset signals to logic cells of the array. Each network includes a plurality of column multiplexers for selecting a column clock or reset signal from a plurality of system clock or reset signals. Within each column of logic cells are positioned sector multiplexers for selecting a sector clock or reset signal from a plurality of column clock or reset signals. The clock and reset signals are applied to the combinatorial and sequential logic circuits of each logic cell associated with a given sector multiplexer. A clock gate circuit is controlled cooperatively with an output multiplexer in each logic cell. The networks are designed with features to minimize signal skew including signal source buffering, multiplexer signal buffering, and output driver sizing as a function of signal propagation distance.

    Abstract: A programmable logic cell has four logic gates, two of which are configurable. The two configurable logic gates are positioned near the logic cell inputs. Each configurable logic gate has two inputs, each input being connected to one of the four logic cell inputs. The remaining two logic gates receive the outputs of the configurable logic gates. Four independent logic cell input nodes are provided, each having associated therewith a programmable input multiplexer. Each input multiplexer can have inputs connected to at least two types of interconnect conductors. The cell also has two output paths, each having associated therewith an independently-controlled output multiplexer. The output of each output multiplexer is connected to an input of the other output multiplexer.     Abstract: This invention pertains to a method of site-specific mutagenesis of DNA. The method can be used to mutagenize DNA, especially circular DNA (for example, virtually any plasmid), requiring only that the DNA carry a nonessential, unique recognition site for a restriction enzyme (restriction site). According to the method, a parental DNA to be mutated, containing a nonessential, unique restriction site, is used to generate progeny DNA containing the desired mutation but lacking the restriction site. The non-mutant parental-type DNA and the mutant progeny DNA are treated with any enzyme that cleaves at the restriction site to cleave the parental-type DNA, leaving the mutant DNA uncleaved. Mutant progeny DNA is selected by transforming cells with the enzyme-treated DNA under conditions such that the cells are transformed with uncleaved DNA at a higher efficiency than cleaved DNA with the result that the majority of transformants carry the mutant DNA. In preferred embodiments, the DNA is circular.

    Abstract: Insect electrocution apparatus having a first wire mesh formed of perpendicularly crossed wires spaced from a second wire mesh formed of perpendicularly crossed wires. The spacing device comprises a main body portion having a length equal to the spacing distance with a pair of bosses extending axially from the opposite ends of the main body portion. Each of the bosses defines a slot which receives a wire from a respective wire mesh, and the wire meshes are retained in place with respect to the main body portion. One of the wire meshes is mounted to a chassis plate by means of a grid support formed of insulative material. The grid support is an elongated member having a first portion for connection to the grid and a second portion for connection to the chassis plate.
