  • Publication number: 20230288037
Abstract: A recessed light fixture has an enclosure with an aperture, a light source operable to emit light through the aperture, and a glass element operable to transmit light emitted from the light source into the room. The glass element is disposed substantially planar with a bottom surface of the ceiling and has a beveled outer edge having an opaque coating operable to substantially prevent light from exiting through the bevel. A cover assembly is adapted to close an opening of a plaster frame, and has a cover plate and an elastomeric seal which forms a contiguous seal against a bottom of an interior of a liner of the plaster frame. A position of the light engine being adjustable relative to an aperture into a downlight position, wall wash position and service position.

  • Publication number: 20230280019
Abstract: A recessed light fixture has a heat sink and a removable light engine assembly. A thermally conductive base of the light engine assembly has an LED and has a thermal interface adapted for thermal coupling to a thermal interface of the heat sink. A mechanical connector in the enclosure can connect the base of the light engine assembly to the heat sink and couple the thermal interfaces of the light engine assembly and heat sink. The base of the light engine assembly is insertable through an opening in the ceiling aligned and can be urged into connected and disconnected states, from within the room, with a minimal clearance between the opening in the ceiling and the base, whereby the light engine assembly can be replaced or serviced from within the room without disturbing the ceiling and without the use of a large diameter trim.

  • Patent number: 10907806
Abstract: A light fixture having an upper and lower housing, and a mounting bracket adapted to mount to a junction box. The light fixture has a relatively short mounting bracket for surface mount configurations, and a relatively long mounting bracket for recess mount configurations, and a difference in the height of the long and short mounting brackets is equal to the height of the junction box. In the surface-mount and recess-mount configurations a circumferential edge of the upper housing abuts the mounting surface so the lighting fixture has the same external appearance and size in both configurations. The light fixture also has a pendant mode wherein the upper housing is suspended from the junction box by an elongated support. An enclosure for the junction box has a plurality of cut-outs and covers to accommodate various configurations of surface mounted conduit.

  • Patent number: 10816172
Abstract: A lighting system has a lighting fixture with a housing and a pair of mounting brackets fixed to opposed sides of the housing and mounted to a hanger bar. Each mounting bracket is adapted to mount to a hanger bar without tools and the hanger bars are adapted to mount to the grid of rails without tools. The hanger bar can have first and second hanger bar members which are adapted to relatively move along a longitudinal axis (Y axis) of the hanger bar to extend and retract a length of the hanger bar. The mounting bracket is adapted to toollessly mount to the hanger bar at a predetermined vertical position (Z axis) and lateral position (X axis) relative to the hanger bar.

  • Patent number: 10605419
Abstract: A recessed lighting fixture for installation in an inclined ceiling has an enclosure and a lighting assembly pivotal relative to the enclosure through a first and second range of relative angles such that an optical axis can be aligned vertically for the first and second ranges. First and second trim element are adapted for use with the first and second ranges of inclinations. The first and second trim elements have optical element aligned at different angles, and a relative angle between the optical elements and the reflector plane is less than or equal to 10 degrees. An angle indicator provides a proper relative angle of the lighting assembly and a trim indicator provides an indication of a proper trim element.
