  • Publication number: 20060019036
Abstract: The method of applying an electrically conductive paint of this invention includes delivering paint from a color changer (30) at ground potential, then electrically isolating the color changer (30) from the paint in a delivery line (100), and the delivering the paint through a first delivery line (74) to an electrically charged paint applicator (27). In the disclosed embodiment, paint is delivered from the color changer (30) to a paint cannister (34) having a piston (56) and the piston (56) is then extended to drive paint through the delivery tube (74) to the applicator (27) while the paint cannister (34) is electrically isolated from the color changer (30).

  • Publication number: 20050258270
Abstract: A rotational atomizer turbine of the present invention is designed to drive a bell-shaped disk in a rotational atomizer for a coating unit. The rotational atomizer turbine includes a housing, a rotatable turbine wheel with several turbine blades connected to a shaft and rotatably disposed in the housing. A plurality of nozzles are defined in the housing and are positioned relative the turbine wheel to drive fluid, i.e. gas onto the turbine blades. An intermediate chamber formed in the housing is fluidly communicated with and connected to the nozzles to hold gas therein. The intermediate chamber has a first inlet to supply gas. At least a second inlet is defined in the intermediate chamber for delivering gas into the intermediate chamber thereby increasing amount of gas therein to multiply a rotational speed of the rotatable turbine wheel as increased amount of gas is introduced to the turbine blades.

  • Publication number: 20050178325
Abstract: An operating system for a power feed pump and a power feed pump having a transfer chamber with an inlet and an outlet. The outlet of the transfer chamber is closed, the inlet of the transfer chamber is opened, and a negative pressure is generated in the transfer chamber to suck a powder in through the inlet to the transfer chamber. The inlet of the transfer chamber is closed, the outlet of the transfer chamber is opened, and the powder in the transfer chamber is delivered through the outlet. The negative pressure in the transfer chamber is built up at least partially before the inlet of the transfer chamber is opened.

  • Publication number: 20040249105
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of a two-component coating mixture, in particular for the production of a an aqueous two-component polyurethane coating emulsion from an aqueous binder dispersion comprising isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and a polyisocyanate, with a mixer for the production of the two-component coating mixture by mixing a first coating component and a second coating component and with a homogeniser for homogenisation of the two-component coating mixture, the homogeniser being downstream from the mixer. It is proposed that, in the outlet zone of the homogeniser, a return line branches off, which opens into the inlet zone of the homogeniser, in order to recirculate a portion of the two-component coating mixture homogenised by the homogeniser for rehomogenisation. The invention furthermore comprises a corresponding process and a substrate which is coated with a coating produced in corresponding manner.

  • Publication number: 20040164190
Abstract: A turbine, e.g., with a blade arrangement, which receives an air flow in the radial direction and which is located on a carrier surface of the turbine wheel, is used as a drive motor for a rotary atomizer. The drive channel, which contains the turbine blades and which is limited by the carrier surface, is also closed on its other side by a cover element, which is attached to the turbine wheel and which rotates with the wheel for increasing efficiency. For an additional increase in efficiency, the inlet for the drive air of the turbine is configured as an ultrasonic nozzle with a cross section that expands continuously up to the opening.
