  • Patent number: 7499630
Abstract: A method for playing back multimedia data using an entertainment device, priorities for a corresponding classification of multimedia data being assigned based on a user profile. The multimedia data is then played back based on the priorities and the availability of the multimedia data. The multimedia data may be received or read out from a memory. An electronic program guide makes a timed recording of multimedia data possible.

  • Patent number: 7484398
Abstract: A compressive tool having two jaw halves that run longitudinally from a rear to a front end and are connected to each other in an articulating manner and that can be moved from an open into a closed position. The jaw halves each have an intake contour at the rear end, and cooperate with a displaceable part of a compressive contour such that the displaceable part of the compressive contour, when being displaced longitudinally toward the front end of the jaw halves, will move along the intake contours and force the latter apart in order to move the jaw halves from the open into the closed position.

  • Patent number: 7336715
Abstract: A method of coded modulation of digital data is described, the digital data being divided into parallel signal streams, and the useful bits then being channel coded at different code rates according to their error susceptibility. The useful bits channel coded differently in this way are then scrambled separately in time. The different code rates used and the respective number per transmission frame of the useful bits channel coded at different code rates are signaled to the receivers, so that the receiver is able to perform the descrambling and channel decoding.

  • Publication number: 20080014106
Abstract: A method for operating a reciprocating positive displacement pump for the simultaneous low-pulsation discharge of a plurality of liquids, having for each liquid at least two pump chambers and displacement devices capable of movement therein, of which the one displacement device takes in liquid during the actual discharge phase of the other displacement device, and at the end of its intake stroke reverses its direction of movement, and, in a pre-compression phase, pre-compresses the liquid taken into the associated pump chamber and when a predeterminable pre-compression pressure has been achieved comes to a standstill, and remains at the standstill until the other displacement device has ended its liquid discharge, and, subsequent to this discharge, begins its own discharge. The method includes the steps of carrying out a pressure compensation during the subsequent discharge stroke preventing a pressure compensation between the individual pump chambers during the subsequent discharge stroke.

  • Patent number: 7280809
Abstract: A method for adjusting transmission parameters of a transmitter for digital radio signals, for example, broadcast signals, is described, in which context a receiving apparatus receives the digital radio signals emitted by the transmitter and transfers data to the transmitter via a return channel, transfer data and reception parameters being contained in the data. The transmitter then optimizes the transmission parameters as a function of these data. It is possible in this context that in the data, the transfer data either contain the received digital radio signals, or already have evaluation data from the receiving apparatus. The method is suitable in particular for digital radio signals that are transferred below 30 MHz. The return channel is operated either in simplex mode from the receiving apparatus to the transmitter, or in duplex mode.

  • Patent number: 7143689
Abstract: The invention relates to a strapper for bank notes and a bank note processing apparatus having such a strapper. Especially reliable and fast strapping is possible if a guide for forming a strap loop around a bank-note bundle to be strapped that is brought into an inside area surrounded by the guide has elements for holding the strap only in its lateral edge areas when it is inserted into the guide, and when the strap is pulled it can be pulled together tightly out of the guide into the inside area around the bank-note bundle located therein.

  • Patent number: 7142608
Abstract: A method of transmitting digital data by radio signals in orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM). Digital data is divided into error protection classes and the power level of the digital data is altered according to the particular error protection class. In addition to the data thus altered, error protection class data is transmitted in a separate logic channel. By using this error protection class data, a reception device is able to reverse this change in power level and perform a correct demodulation. The error protection class data is generated on the basis of the number, length and transmission reliability of the error protection classes and on the basis of transmission parameters. The digital data, divided into frames, is first assigned to services, and then these services are assigned to a corresponding error protection class.

  • Patent number: 7013420
Abstract: A method is presented for the coded modulation of digital data, a modulation being carried out that is coded in multiple stages. In this context, the useful bits for the coded modulation are divided into parallel signal streams, and each signal stream is fed to a specific coder to carry out the channel coding. In the respective coder, the useful bits have tail bits added to them, which, in contrast to the useful bits, are channel-coded using a variable code rate, to achieve a preestablished bit number for a specific coder, so that all signal streams that are coded in parallel contain the same number of bits.

  • Patent number: 6922973
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for depositing loose sheet material, in particular papers of value, bank notes, etc., having a transport apparatus (2) for transporting the sheet material (1) and a stacking unit (3) for depositing the bank notes (1) in a deposit device as well as a strapping unit (7). In such deposit apparatuses it is usual to provide special deposit devices for depositing loose and strapped sheet material, said devices consequently not being interchangeable. It is therefore the problem of the invention to state an apparatus and method for providing a flexible possibility of depositing sheet material. This is obtained by using a deposit device which is suitable for optionally depositing loose and/or strapped sheet material (1).
