  • Publication number: 20130091513
Abstract: A parent computer application interacts with one or more independently operating embedded child applications so as to provide an integrated seamless operating environment in which the embedded child applications are presented through the user interface of the parent application and may be controlled through the parent application. A computer operating system provides a user interface such that each installed computer application is allocated its own respective memory space by the operating system, and includes a library that is utilized for its operation, only one of the computer applications as an active application at any time. The system detects when one of the embedded child applications is the active application of the operating system, and in response changes a parent application attribute to ensure that a single integrated application window is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20130087509
Abstract: A filtration system and method are provided for removing suspended solids and other affiliated pollutants from stormwater runoff and any other contaminated water. The filtration system and method utilize a filter having a geosynthetic material. By improving or replacing a conventional filtration system, such as a sand filtration system, with a geosynthetic material, the removal efficiency of suspended solids and affiliated pollutants is maintained or improved and the lifespan of the filtration system is lengthened due to simpler cleaning processes and a reduced need for material replacements. The filter can be a retrofit filter for fitting to existing storm drains for removing suspended solids and affiliated pollutants.

  • Publication number: 20130090030
Abstract: A method of treatment for synthetic or natural fibre or yarn includes coating the fibre/yarn with a dispersion of carbon nanotubes in a coating composition which is cured by actinic radiation, such as UV, to provide a flexible conductive layer on the fibre/yarn. The liquid coating composition is sheared along the direction of a long axis of the yarn as it is applied to the yarn whereby the carbon nanotubes are substantially aligned prior to curing of the coating layer to provide improved longitudinal conductance. The method provides conductive fibre/yarn, from which anti-static textiles and fabrics can be formed, by treatment of conventional fibre/yarn and in a method with low energy consumption. The improved conductance allows thin or partial (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20130090921
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for adding entries to a custom lexicon used by a speech recognition engine of a speech interface in response to user interaction with the speech interface. In one embodiment, a speech signal is obtained when the user speaks a name of a particular item to be selected from among a finite set of items. If a phonetic description of the speech signal is not recognized by the speech recognition engine, then the user is presented with a means for selecting the particular item from among the finite set of items by providing input in a manner that does not include speaking the name of the item. After the user has selected the particular item via the means for selecting, the phonetic description of the speech signal is stored in association with a text description of the particular item in the custom lexicon.

  • Publication number: 20130091487
Abstract: A novel system, computer program product, and method are disclosed for transforming a program to facilitate points-to analysis. The method begins with accessing at least a portion of program code, such as JavaScript. In one example, a method with at least one dynamic property correlation is identified for extraction. When a method m is identified for extraction with the dynamic property correlation, a body of the loop l in the method m is extracted. A new method mp is created to include the body of the loop l with the variable i as a parameter. The loop l is substituted in the program code of the method m with the new method mp to create a transformed program code.
