  • Patent number: 6698173
Abstract: A mower having a locking mechanism for locking a moveable handlebar of the mower in its operating position is provided. The mower further includes an actuator for controlling operation of the mower so as to permit or not permit operation of an implement powered thereby when the handlebar is in its operating position. Additionally, the locking mechanism may be used to assist in the fastening of an attachment such as a debris collection receptacle. Also, since the handlebar may be moved into a non-operating position, the handlebar may be used as a prop so as to, for example, permit necessary maintenance on the underside of the mower to be more easily accomplished.

  • Patent number: 6514047
Abstract: A pump and methods for compressing a fluid are provided that comprise a pump head comprising a flexible metal diaphragm attached to a rigid compression chamber. Fluid compression is provided within the rigid compression chamber when the flexible diaphragm is mechanically oscillated back and forth by a linear motor operated at a drive frequency that is at or below the mechanical resonance of the moving parts, mechanical springs and gas springs. Tuned ports and valves allow low-pressure fluid to enter and high-pressure fluid to exit the compression chamber in response to the cyclic compressions. The linear resonance pump provides high frequency operation, small diaphragm displacements, and high compression ratios for gases.

  • Patent number: 6296289
Abstract: A storage assembly is disclosed for use in a storage area of a motor vehicle. The storage assembly includes a primary support that is pivotally secured to a load floor of the storage area or the floor covering that covers the load floor. The primary support is a wall that pivots between a stowed position and a use position. Attached to the primary support is a side wall. The side wall also pivots between two positions, i.e., a collapsed position and an extended position. The side wall and the primary support define a space within the storage area that is secure for storing a small object therein without having it shift or tip over during the operation of the motor vehicle. When not desired, it folds down against the load floor and is out of the way.

  • Patent number: 6134552
Abstract: A system and method is described for the efficient management and storage of documents in a multi-user environment by implementing a three-tiered content model for storage and a context resolution mechanism for retrieval. Source objects may logically reference target objects where the target objects dynamically exist in different versions. In particular, the content model contains three classes in a collection wherein each subsequent class inherits the properties of the previous class. The classes comprise logical objects, physical objects, and components. All physical objects that belong to the same logical object are context specific variants, such as different versions of each other. Physical objects in a collection can be related by different criteria, as well as by user-defined relations. The system provides for versioning of objects, such as variations based on content, format, language, etc.
