  • Publication number: 20200024503
Abstract: In an embodiment, a resin formulation is provided. The resin formulation includes a curable resin; a hardener, wherein a concentration of hardener is from 15 wt % to 80 wt % based on a total weight of the curable resin; and a surfactant, wherein a concentration of surfactant is from 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % based on the total weight of the curable resin. In another embodiment, a method of treating a wellbore is provided. The method includes adding to a subterranean wellbore a volume of a resin formulation, the resin formulation comprising a curable resin, a hardener, and a surfactant; and allowing the resin formulation to form a sealant.

  • Patent number: 7886823
Abstract: A two part encapsulated cementing system is mixed downhole in a method of remediation of an active well. Using this two part system, one of the components is first placed in the well at the desired remediation depth. Next, the other component is placed in the well above the first placed component. Densities of the components have been selected such that the density of the second placed component is sufficiently higher then the density of the first placed component to facilitate gravity mixing of the two components as the second placed component moves through the first placed component and in the process activation occurs.

  • Patent number: 6732797
Abstract: A method of forming a cementitious plug in a well is disclosed. According to the method, a well is selected for treatment which lacks sufficient formation pressure to cause well fluid to naturally flow to the surface of the well. In addition, a formation penetrated by the well has unobstructed access between it and the surface. Having thus selected a well for treatment, a liquid slurry comprising a cementitious material, whose density is greater than the density of the well fluid, is introduced into the well. The slurry is permitted to drive the well fluid into the formation. Sufficient slurry is added to the well to fill the well to the surface. The slurry is then permitted to set into a hardened mass.
