  • Publication number: 20190200250
Abstract: Method performed by a wireless device (130) operating in a wireless communications network (100) wherein a plurality of beams (121) is transmitted by one or more network nodes (111, 113, 114) in the wireless communications network (100). The wireless device (130) generates (602) a log over a period of time. The log comprises: a) information about a first set of beams (122) in the plurality of beams (121) detected by the wireless device (130), and b) a time of detection. The log comprises the information and the time of detection for both of: i) a first set of time periods when the wireless device (130) was in a connected state in the wireless communications network (100), and ii) a second set of time periods when the wireless device (130) lacked a connection in the wireless communications network (100). The wireless device (130) sends (605) the generated log to a first network node (111).

  • Publication number: 20190182793
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a first communication node (110; 121) for determining the position of a second communication node (122) in a wireless communications network (100). The first communication node (110; 121) transmits a timing measurement message to the second communication node (122) as a beamformed transmission based on channel sounding feedback information received from the second communication node (122). The first communication node (110; 121) also receives an acknowledgement message from the second communication node (122) for the timing measurement message in the beamformed transmission. Furthermore, the first communication node (110; 121) determines the position of the second communication node (122) at least partly based on a transmission time of the timing measurement message and a reception time of the acknowledgement message. Embodiments of the first communication node (110; 121) are also described.

  • Patent number: 10299178
Abstract: A first base station provides radio communication service to user equipments, UEs, and a second base station that provides radio communication service to UEs in adjacent cell service area. The first base station receives cell range expansion, CRE, information from the second base station for expanding the size of the first cell and evaluates handover of one or more UEs with respect to the second cell based on the CRE information. In one embodiment, the second base station determines a CRE related configuration that includes the CRE information with respect to the first cell, sends the CRE information to the first base station. For example, the second base station may send a handover request including the CRE information to the first base station. The second base station also may consider CRE information in handover evaluation.

  • Publication number: 20190141659
Abstract: A method performed by a User Equipment, UE, for handling Tracking Area, TA, information for the UE is provided. The UE operates in a wireless communications network. The UE obtains (401) a TA configuration comprising a list of allowed Tracking Area Codes, TACs, for the UE. The UE obtains (402) a first TAC and a first Tracking Area Part code, TAP. The first TAC relates to a TA. The TA comprises a number of TA parts, each TA part being associated with a TAP. The UE determines (403) a second TAC based on a combination the first TAC and the first TAP. When the second TAC is not in the list comprised in the TA configuration, the UE requests (404) updated TA information.

  • Publication number: 20190089405
Abstract: A method and a receiving node for determining Time Of Arrival (TOA) for a radio signal received from a transmitting node in a wireless network. The receiving node detects the received radio signal by cross-correlating the received radio signal with a predefined reference signal transmitted by the transmitting node, to obtain a Cross-Correlated Function (CCF). The receiving node then estimates a set of candidate TOAs for respective signal components of the cross-correlated signal, and determines a final TOA for the received radio signal based on the set of candidate TOAs.
