    Abstract: A method performs a Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC) Packet Switched (PS) to Circuit Switched (CS) handover of an emergency call that is routed over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. The call is transferred from a first region served by a first Mobility Management Entity (MME) to a second region served by a second MME. The method includes sending a first handover request from the first MME to the second MME to transfer the call. The first handover request includes an Emergency Session Transfer Number for SRVCC (E-STN-SR) identifying an Emergency Access Transfer Function (EATF) in the first region. A second handover request for handover to a CS access is sent to a target Mobile Switching Centre, MSC, and includes the E-STN-SR. The call is handed over to the CS access using the E-STN-SR to route the call via the EATF in the first region.

    Abstract: A solution is presented that includes a method of performing a Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC, handover of a telecommunications call established by a User Equipment, UE accessing a serving network using a Packet Switched, PS, access. The serving network includes a serving IMS network and the call is a UE-undetected emergency call anchored in the serving IMS network. The method includes receiving an indication from the serving network that the established call is a UE-undetected emergency call anchored in the serving IMS network. A SRVCC handover request to hand over the call from the PS access to a Circuit Switched, CS, access is received. Handover of the call is initiated so that an Emergency Session Transfer Number-Single Radio, E-STN-SR, is used and the call continues to be routed through the IMS network in which it is anchored.

    Abstract: An emergency access transfer function (EATF) node is described for use when hand over of a user equipment (UE) from a first to a second access network is performed during an emergency call session (ECS). The EATF node receives a request for transferring the ECS from the first access network to the second access network. The EATF node transfers the ECS of the UE from the first to the second access network when the ECS is known to the EATF node. The EATF node selects a second EATF node from a set of one or more EATF nodes when the ECS is unknown, and forwards the request for transferring the ECS to the second EATF node. The EATF node may be in a first network region and the second EATF node may be in the first or a second network region.

    Abstract: A method is provided of handing over a priority call with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC. The priority call has a specified CS priority level. The method includes sending a handover request from the CS access network towards the PS access network and the IMS network to transfer the priority call. A PS priority level for the session in the PS network is determined based on the specified CS priority level. Bearer resources for the IMS session are allocated. The bearer resources are based, at least in part, on the PS priority level. The call is transferred to the IMS session over the PS access network.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for key management in a communication network. A Key Management Server (KMS) receives from a first device a request for a token associated with a user identity, the user identity being associated with a second device. The KMS then sends the requested token and a user key associated with the user to the first device. The KMS subsequently receives the token from the second device. A second device key is generated using the user key and a modifying parameter associated with the second device. The modifying parameter is available to the first device for generating the second device key. The second device key is then sent from the KMS to the second device. The second device key can be used by the second device to authenticate itself to the first device, or for the first device to secure communications to the second device.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for allowing a terminal to attach to an access network. The terminal determines that the access network does not support a subscriber identifier used by the terminal, and so it attaches to the access network using an IMSI, the IMSI having been pre-provisioned at the terminal. The terminal, once attached, sends a request for a roaming IMSI to a remote node in the subscriber's home network. It then receives a roaming IMSI from the remote, the roaming IMSI being associated with the subscription and related subscriber identifier. The terminal detaches from the access network and then re-attaches to the access network using the roaming IMSI.

    Abstract: A subscriber database maintains a data record related to a user equipment. The subscriber database receives an indication from a control node which is responsible for controlling a plurality of packet switched network accesses, The indication indicates whether voice communication with the user equipment over circuit switched access is supported or unsupported homogeneously for all the network accesses controlled by the control node. The subscriber database stores the indication in the data record. If the subscriber database receives a request from a termination control node which is responsible for controlling termination of a voice session with the user equipment, it processes the request depending on the stored indication. In some cases, if the indication indicates that voice communication with the user equipment over circuit switched access is unsupported homogeneously, the subscriber database may reject the request without further interaction with other nodes.

    Abstract: A method is provided of performing a handover with SRVCC to a target PS access network of an emergency call to a PSAP from a UE accessing a CS access network. The method includes sending a handover request from the CS access network towards an IMS network to transfer the emergency call. A CS to PS emergency handover command is sent to the UE, including an emergency STN identifying an access transfer control function. The UE sends a SIP INVITE to establish an emergency IMS session over the PS access network. The SIP INVITE includes the emergency STN so that the INVITE is routed to the access transfer control function. The emergency call sent over the CS access network with the emergency IMS session are correlated and the emergency call is switched to the emergency IMS session over the PS access network to complete the handover.

A Key Management Terminal KMS Terminal Server (KMS) receives from a first device a request for a token associated with a user identity, the user identity being associated with a second device. The KMS then sends the requested token and a user key associated with the user to the first device. The KMS subsequently receives the token from the second device. A second device key is generated using the user key and a modifying parameter associated with the second device. The modifying parameter is available to the first device for generating the second device key. The second device key is then sent from the KMS to the second device. The second device key can be used by the second device to authenticate itself to the first device, or for the first device to secure communications to the second device.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for use in handling session establishment in a home network or visited network. IMS roaming is described for a UE of the home network that is roaming in the visited network. On receipt of a session establishment request associated with an originating call from the UE the home network determines whether to perform home routing and/or direct home routing of the originating call to the called party. When home routing, execution of service invocation is suspended and the home network sends a session establishment request including a routing number of an application server in the home network back to the visited network, which performs visiting service invocation of the call and routes the signaling and media to the home network-based on the routing number. The network node in the home network resumes execution of service invocation and routing of the originating call to the called party.

A Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) receives a request from an originating device to establish a session with a target device. The request includes a plurality of codec identifiers that could be used by the originating device. The SCC AS sends a second request to establish the session to the target device. The SCC AS subsequently receives, from an intermediate node between the SCC AS and the target device, an invite message. The invite message includes an indication that a codec identifier has been selected from the plurality of codec identifiers. The SCC AS then sends a message to the intermediate node instructing the intermediate node to establish the session.
