Abstract: According to the invention a method for automatic configuration of a process control system is provided, comprising a master and at least one slave, wherein the master controls the at least one slave, which is connected to and communicates with the master via a bus system, and processes data received from the at least one slave, whereby the master automatically identifies the at least one slave via the bus system, and subsequently automatically generates an apparatus configuration for setting up the slave according to its identification such that the slave is ready to be operated in the process control system. Moreover, the invention relates to a process control system adapted to carry out the method.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for automatic modeling a process control system in which elements of a user interface are arranged in a tree structure reflecting the topography of the elements in the process control system. Each element is assigned to at least one input window having a plurality of attributes for setting and/or monitoring a target apparatus controllable in the process control system. The current arrangement of the tree structure is stored as a project, and a list of all windows opened during the same current operation as well as their attributes are stored as an operating session, to thereby be able to restore the state of the elements when loading the process control system again. Moreover, the invention relates to a process control system adapted to carry out the above-referenced method.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bus station (14; 15; 23) such as a sensor (14), an actuator (15) or a gateway (23) fulfilling, apart from their primary device immanent function, a secondary function, namely a bus monitor function. In order to be able to fulfil said secondary function, the bus stations (14; 15; 23) are each equipped with a bus monitor means (30) which makes it possible to access, to detect and to further process the telegram traffic carried on the bus system (5; 40). Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for storing web page templates defined in a page description language such as HTML in process devices, and to the generation of a plurality of different web pages on the basis of a single stored template designed in a page description language such as HTML. As process devices, in particular level measuring devices, pressure measuring devices, limit switches, field devices, sensors, actuators and interface converters with a device-inherent web server including a data memory, have to be categorized. The invention moreover relates to user-definable web page templates, which can be simply modified in a desired manner by a user while in particular reducing storage space. The modifications are in particular supposed to adapt the representations based on the stored web page template on a display such as a monitor, to the specific requirements of a user or viewer. It also relates in particular to web page templates containing one or several wildcards or keywords.
