  • Publication number: 20020145331
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bicycle wheel hub with strengthening mechanism which includes a regulating spindle connected at the front and rear forks of the shaft of the wheel hub. Based on the opening or closed end of he fork, the shaft is adjusted from the original position to the appropriate position. Accordingly, the engagement among the chainwheel, the freewheel and the drive chain is slightly adjusted to a better condition. Besides, both ends of the shaft or one end thereof near the freewheel is able to be larger than the diameter of portion receiving the bearing by means of the adjustment of the screw joint so that the supporting strength is much improved.

  • Patent number: 6339299
Abstract: A preheating circuit for a fluorescent lamp is provided. The preheating circuit includes a filament detecting circuit indirectly detecting a filament resistance in a fluorescent lamp by measuring a filament voltage and a filament current, a pulse generation circuit providing pulses of one of a first frequency and a second frequency determined by the detected filament resistance and a specific filament resistance, and a filament resonance circuit operating the fluorescent lamp at an operating frequency determined by the pulse generation circuit. Therefore, the filament resonance circuit operates at the first frequency to preheat the fluorescent lamp when the detected filament resistance is smaller than the specific resistance. The filament resonance circuit operates at the second frequency to operate the fluorescent lamp when the detected filament resistance is one of a first value being larger than and a second value being equal to that of the specific resistance.

  • Patent number: 6085555
Abstract: A palm-top fabric leading edge detector adapted to be incorporated in a high temperature or regular temperature, L-configured or U-configured dyeing machine includes a detector body which is releasably connected to a sensor mounted in the dyeing machine via a cable to receive a fabric leading edge detection signal from the sensor when the leading edge of a fabric that is moved through the dyeing machine for dyeing passes through the sensor. The detector processes the fabric leading edge detection signal and provides the detection result on a display on the detector body. The detector is driven by an internal power source which may be primary cells or secondary cells rechargeable by means of external power source. Visual indicator and audio signal generation device are provided to indicate the detection of the fabric leading edge in a visual and audio manner.

  • Patent number: 5927434
Abstract: An extensible ladder includes an upper frame, an up and down transmitting unit and a first and a second extensible frame. The first and the second extensible frame each have a plurality of pairs of crisscrossing rods pivotally connected with each other. Plural ladder steps and connecting rods are pivotally connected between the first and the second extensible frame. The connecting rods are pivotally connected to guide blocks, which have a vertical threaded hole for each of two threaded rods of the up and down transmitting unit to fit in and engage. Then each threaded rod has a clockwise threaded portion and counterclockwise threaded portion engaging the vertical threaded holes of the guide blocks. When an active rod with two worm sections is rotated by two worm gears combined with splines with an upper spline shaft portion of the two threaded rods, the active rod rotates the threaded rods, forcing the two extensible frames to extend down or shrink up.

  • Patent number: 5801962
Abstract: A method and apparatus for calibrating an image system is disclosed. The method according to the present invention includes inputting data by scanning a plurality of lines into a computer, and analyzing the input data for generating intensity of the scanned lines. The inputting step is repeated when the intensity is less than a low threshold value or the intensity is higher than a high threshold value. Next, any scanned line that includes at least a special point is filtered out. After averaging the corresponding points of the scanned lines not filtered out in order to generate a calibration line, a predetermined number of points of the calibration line are averaged to generate a reference point, wherein the predetermined number of points of the calibration line are brighter than other points of the calibrated line. Finally, the calibration data are obtained by taking ratio of the reference point to each of the points of the calibration line.
