  • Patent number: 6228420
Abstract: A method to maintain a consistent thin film thickness deposited by chemical vapor deposition is described in which method a compensative coefficient K is provided. The initial preset deposition time T0 is multiplied by the compensative coefficient K to obtain an actual deposition time T, where T=K×T0. Using the actual deposition time T to conduct the deposition, the expected thickness of the thin film is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6181748
Abstract: A pulse shaper for integrated service digital network (ISDN) U-interface. The pulse shaper of the present invention includes a couple of control clock generators, a clock-controlled fully differential switched-capacitor integrator, a fully differential sample and hold circuit, and a fully differential line driver/Rauch lowpass filter. The pulse shaper converts four-level 2B1Q digital input code (D0 and D1) to five staircase-type analog waveform by using fully differential switched-capacitor integrator. The sample and hold circuit then eliminates the spikes in the five-stair waveform and improve the signal linearity. The lowpass filter and telephone line driver is utilized to perform the output signal to comply with the waveform specification of ANSI T1 5.3.2.1 and 5.3.2.2.

  • Patent number: 5990662
Abstract: Raising the charging acceptability of nickel battery. The setting of the initial SOC (state of charge) of hybrid electric vehicle battery to X% (for example 50%) is performed by two steps. The first one is a constant current charge until a fully charged state (S11, S12). Secondly, a discharging is performed until the target SOC of X% is obtained (S13, S14). This enables the interior part of the nickel positive electrode active particles to be assumed as a charged state so that during normal operation, charging and discharging can be performed relatively in the surface layer. This can increase the efficiency of oxidation-reduction in the nickel positive electrode, thereby raising the charging acceptability.

  • Patent number: 5920633
Abstract: An acoustic transmission line speaker enclosure with concentric cylindrical structures establishes acoustic coupling between a rear-traveling sound wave and a surrounding air mass. Inherent rigidity or high bending resistance of the cylindrical structure allows use of very thin walled cylinders without a massive and large overall enclosure. An audio amplifier tunable to a listening room removes very low narrow frequency band components of an audio signal. Listening room cavity resonance is measured by injecting a frequency-varying sound wave into the listening room while detecting peak sound energy within the room. The filter the eliminates from audio signal frequencies associated with listening room cavity resonance.

  • Patent number: 5604152
Abstract: A novel process for depositing amorphous silicon has been described. The process features the homogeneous reaction of, decomposition of SiH2 and deposition of amorphous silicon, in a horizontal LPCVD reaction chamber. The SiH2 is produced by initially breaking down SiH4 in a heated autoclave apparatus, and then transferring the SiH2 to the LPCVD system through heated feed lines. This homogeneous process results in excellent thickness and resistivity uniformity for wafers placed along the horizontal axis of the LPCVD chamber.

  • Patent number: 4776884
Abstract: A process for determining the arrangement of the layered charges in a blast furnace prior to smelting. Positioned in the layered charges in the blast furnace are a plurality of upright tubes in each of which an eddy current probe is moved up and down. The layered charges are composed of alternate layers of coke and sintered iron ore. A first set of data indicating the position of the probe is obtained through an encoder, a position counter and a recorder. A second set of data indicating the content of the sintered iron ores in the charges at any level is obtained through an eddy current tester and the recorder due to the fact the sintered iron ores and the cokes are of different magnetic permeabilities. By contrasting the first set of data with the second set of data, the distribution of the sintered iron ores in the charges is detected.
