    Abstract: A surface mount quartz crystal oscillator includes: a quartz crystal unit having a plurality of first connection terminals on its bottom surface, and a mounting substrate formed with a depression, which accommodates an IC chip inside the depression. The side of the mounting substrate having the opening of the depression bonds with the bottom surface of the crystal unit. The IC chip integrates an oscillation circuit that employs the crystal unit and a temperature compensation circuit. Second connection terminals corresponding to the first connection terminals are provided on the upper surface of the frame wall that encloses the depression in the mounting substrate. A notched portion is formed in the frame wall, and resin is injected from this notched portion into the depression to fill at least the region between the first connection terminals.

    Abstract: A second-harmonic oscillator based on push-push oscillation has a pair of amplifiers for oscillation, a high frequency transmission line for connecting inputs of the pair of amplifiers to each other and connecting outputs of the pair of amplifiers to each other, and an electromagnetic coupling member disposed between the inputs and outputs of the pair of amplifiers such that it is electromagnetically coupled to the high frequency transmission line. The electromagnetic coupling member includes at least a dielectric resonator. The pair of amplifiers, high frequency transmission line, and electromagnetic coupling member form two oscillation loops which oscillate in opposite phases to each other with respect to a fundamental wave of oscillation for generating a second harmonic of the fundamental wave.

The filter circuit filters harmonic components of the synchronization signal such that the two oscillation systems are injected with the same frequency components as the fundamental wave or frequency components twice as high as the fundamental wave to increase frequency stability.

    Abstract: A high frequency oscillator comprises a transmission line resonator having a midpoint which serves as a null potential point, a pair of active devices for oscillation respectively connected to a pair of mutually opposite-phase resonance wave points for the transmission line resonator, and a plurality of output lines each having one end connected to the transmission line resonator at a point symmetric to the midpoint, and the other end commonly connected to a connection. The plurality of output lines are coupled to the transmission line resonator respectively at maximum displacement distribution points for a standing wave of an 2n-th harmonic in the transmission line resonator, where n is an integer equal to or larger than two. The crystal oscillator can easily be incorporated into integrated circuits and has an increased variable oscillation frequency range. The crystal oscillator also has an adjustable capacitive assembly having selectable capacitances which is connected parallel to a combined capacitor comprising the first and the second oscillating capacitors.
