  • Patent number: 5815221
Abstract: A polarizing beam splitter extracts orthogonally polarized light beams from natural light and distributes those to liquid crystal panels, which modulate polarization states of those polarized light beams in accordance with a luminance signal and chrominance signals of video signals, respectively. The modulated light beams are combined by the same polarizing beam splitter, and the combined light is enlarged and projected onto a screen by a projection lens, to reproduce a projected image.

  • Patent number: 4719088
Abstract: Apparatus for removing an acidic component from a gas comprising two absorption columns for washing a crude gas by using two concentrations of alkali-containing aqueous solutions. The alkali-containing solution used in the first step has a pH of 6-13 and the solution used in the second step has a 0.3-2.5 N concentration. A specific gravity control device is used to control the concentration of the solution circulated for the second step. A pH control device is used to control the pH of the solution circulated for the first step. The pH control device controls a valve which regulates the addition of the second step solution into the tank of the first step solution as needed.

  • Patent number: 4345255
Abstract: Each of a transmitter and a receiver connected to an antenna through a duplexer includes a .pi./2 and a .pi. polarizer and an ortho-mode transducer (OMT) serially interconnected. In the receiver the OMT is connected at one output to a branching circuit and at the other output to a coupler which is connected to the branching circuit through a transfer circuit. In the transmitter, the OMT is connected at one input to a branching circuit and at the other input to a coupler subsequently connected to the branching circuit through a transfer circuit.
