    Abstract: A submerged motor pump (4) has an auxiliary bearing assembly (19, 20) for supporting a rotatable main shaft (9) when the submerged motor pump is not in an operating condition or operates in a transient condition. The submerged motor pump includes a pump casing (6), at least one impeller (12), a motor (10,11), and a thrust balancing mechanism (15) for balancing thrust forces. The submerged motor pump further includes hydrostatic bearings (16, 17, 18) for supporting the main shaft at axially spaced locations by a pressurized fluid pumped by the submerged motor pump. The auxiliary bearing assembly has tapered support surfaces (FL, FU) for supporting the main shaft at the axially spaced locations.

    Abstract: An objective lens driving device includes drive coils mounted on one of a lens holder bearing an objective lens and a stationary member; magnets mounted on the other in such a manner that said drive coils are confronted with the magnets, and the lens holder is moved in a focusing direction and a tracking direction by application of current to the drive coils; and magnetic pieces arranged in magnetic circuits including the magnets, so that magnetic attraction forces acting on the magnetic pieces produce restoring forces two-dimensionally in the focusing direction and in the tracking direction to hold the objective lens at a neutral point. The magnetic pieces are so arranged that, at the neutral point, the drive coils are confronted straightly with the magnets.

    Abstract: A striker for use with a door lock proper has a unique structure. The door lock proper includes a body having a recess, a cover plate fixed to the body to cover the recess and having a striker receiving slot, a shaft extending between the body and the cover plate and a latch plate pivotally disposed about the shaft, the latch plate having a rounded recess which is directed toward an entrance of the striker receiving slot when the latch plate assumes a striker releasing position. The striker includes a base plate and a shank member which extends vertically from the base plate. The shank member is latchedly engageable with the latch plate upon insertion thereof into the striker receiving slot. The shank member has, at a portion thereof engageable with the latch plate, an oval cross section whose major axis extends in the direction along which the shank member travels into the striker receiving slot.

An electric actuator is employed for moving the locking plate from the engaging position to the releasing position when energized. A power supply device energizes the electric actuator when a door handle is manipulated. The holder has sheet-holding portions of an arc-shaped cross section. The focusing and tracking coil patterns are formed on the curved surfaces of the sheet-holding portions. The door lock device includes a close lever coupled to the drive device and movable from a non-operation position to an operation position, and a sub-pole coupled to the close lever and movable between an engaging position where it is engaged with the latch and a releasing position where it is disengaged from the latch. The sub-pole engages the latch to move the latter to the full latch position in response to movement of the close lever to the operation position, and is moved to the releasing position upon movement of a door handle provided on the door.

    Abstract: A power door lock device comprises a latch plate pivotal about a first axis to assume an open position, a half-latch position and a full-latch position; a sub-lever pivotal about a second axis which is in parallel with the first axis; and a close lever pivotal about the second axis. The sub-lever has an engaged edge and is pivotally connected through a link to the latch plate, so that when the sub-lever is pivotal about the second axis to assume first, second and third angular positions, the latch plate takes the open position, half-latch and full-latch positions respectively. The close lever has an engaging edge which, when the close lever is pivoted from an inoperative position to an operative position, is brought into abutment with the engaged edge of the sub-lever to pivot the sub-lever from the second position to the third position. An electric drive device is used for forcing the close lever to pivot between the inoperative and operative positions.

The operation lever is connected to the locking-unlocking lever in such a manner when the operation lever assumes locking and unlocking positions, the locking-unlocking lever assumes the lock and unlock positions respectively. A first device senses a theft protecting operation which causes the operation lever to pivot from the unlocking position to the locking position. A second device locks the operation lever at the locking position when the first device senses the theft protecting operation.

The trunk lid is provided with a roof slide unit for moving the roof in longitudinal directions.When opening the roof in a closed state, the trunk lid is raised to a position behind the roof, and the roof is moved rearwardly by the roof slide unit to be supported by the trunk lid. Then, the trunk lid is lowered down to a position to close the trunk room. This brings an end to an operation of opening the roof. A reverse procedure may be taken for closing the roof.
