  • Patent number: 5096563
Abstract: An optical disk manufacturing method comprises a step of preparing a master disk having an elastomer layer, formed on a transparent substrate and containing photosensitive dyes, and a polymer support layer, formed on the elastomer layer and having a glass transition temperature; a step of forming minute bumps on the master disk by irradiation of a focusing laser beam; a step of forming a metal layer on that surface of the master disk which has the minute bumps; and a step of forming a stamper layer on that surface of the master disk which is rendered conductive, thereby forming a stamper. According to another optical disk manufacturing method, the metal stamper forming step is replaced with a step of forming a transfer layer, made of a transparent ultraviolet-ray hardening resin, on that surface of the master disk which has the minute bumps, thereby forming a resin stamper.

  • Patent number: 5097324
Abstract: A beam index color display unit uses a single light beam scanning a two-dimensional screen of light beam sensitive three-color phosphor stripes arranged with regularity. The intensity of the light beam is modulated in response to information signals in a video signal while the scanning timing of the light beam is detected by light sensing devices disposed between each of phosphor stripes. Thus, images are displayed on the two-dimensional screen of the display unit.

  • Patent number: 5079429
Abstract: An optical characteristic adjusting apparatus for a laser beam radiation system comprises a transparent substrate which generates visible radiation in response to non-visible radiation, and a stand for positioning the substrate perpendicular to an optical axis of laser beam emitted from a laser beam radiation system. When the non-visible radiation irradiates the surface of the substrate, a bright spot is formed since the visible radiation is generated from the irradiated portion of the substrate. Therefore, an operator can appropriately adjust the optical characteristics of the non-visible radiation at both sides of the transparent substrate since the bright spot can be observed at both sides of the transparent substrate.

  • Patent number: 5077147
Abstract: A luminescent screen includes a plurality of columnar luminescent elements made of a transparent material which contains a substance capable of emitting luminescent light in response to stimulating light applied thereto, the columnar luminescent elements having central axes parallel to each other and having adjacent sides held against each other. Emitted luminescent light is prevented from leaking in a direction normal to the longitudinal direction of the columnar luminescent elements, thereby increasing the brightness of the entire luminescent screen. Since the columnar luminescent elements of the luminescent screen are not integrally joined as a continuous unitary structure, any leaking luminescent light from the adjacent luminescent elements or regions is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5021931
Abstract: A lenticular luminescent screen includes a lenticular base plate made of a transparent material which contains a substance capable of emitting luminescent light in response to stimulating light applied thereto. The lenticular base plate having at least one surface composed of a plurality of adjacent partly cylindrical lens elements. Since the cylindrical lens elements can catch stimulating light with a higher efficiency, the luminescent screen can emit an increased intensity of luminescent light. Inasmuch as the luminescent screen is reduced in thickness between the adjacent cylindrical lens elements, emitted luminescent light is prevented from leaking in a direction across the axes of the cylindrical lens elements.
