  • Patent number: 4713715
Abstract: A tape position display apparatus including a circuit for generating first electrical pulses in response to transport of a tape, a first counter for counting the first electrical pulses, a circuit for generating second electrical pulses from a control track signal recorded on a tape in response to such transport, a second counter for counting the second electrical pulses, a subtracter for detecting the difference between the first and second counts and producing a difference signal proportional thereto, and a comparator for comparing the difference signal with a predetermined value. The second counter counts in a direction which is controlled by the compared result from the comparator, and the tape position is displayed in response to the difference determined by the subtracter.

  • Patent number: 4694234
Abstract: An apparatus for compensating for a quantization error has a time detector circuit for detecting a time signal on the basis of the number of clock signals occurring within the period of such time signal, a quantization error detector circuit for generating a quantization error time signal corresponding to a time difference between the time signal and the clock signal and being in the form of an analog voltage value, and a compensator circuit for compensating a digital detected time derived from the time detector circuit on the basis of an analog quantization error time from the quantization error detector circuit.

  • Patent number: 4528603
Abstract: A head drum servo control arrangement is provided in a video tape recording and reproducing apparatus, for example, of the helical scan type, for reducing head phase error at the cut-in point on a magnetic tape during an electronic editing operation. A variable delay circuit imparts an adjustable delay to a detecting signal provided in response to rotation of the head drum. A first phase comparator circuit provides a drive control signal in response to a comparison of phases of the delayed detecting signal and an off-tape synch signal. A second phase comparator circuit provides a phase error signal in response to a comparison of phases of the reproduced synch signal and an off-tape synch signal derived from a video signal to be recorded during the editing operation.

  • Patent number: 4459620
Abstract: A color video signal reproducing apparatus, such as a VTR, is capable of being operated in a normal speed reproduction mode, as well as in non-normal modes such as stop motion, slow motion, and fast motion. A rotary pick-up head on the apparatus is mounted, e.g., on a bi-morph leaf, for helical and transverse motion so as to scan recorded tracks accurately when the apparatus is in a non-normal mode. A first time base corrector processes the reproduced color video signal in composite form to provide a first corrected composite color video signal.

  • Patent number: 4418303
Abstract: A DC motor control circuit for controlling the speed and direction of rotation including a plurality of linear amplifiers which are, respectively, connected to each of the stator windings of the DC motor and a pulse generator for generating rotational pulse trains which represent the rotational phases of the rotor of the DC motor and output impedance control pulse generator for generating based on the rotational pulse train control pulses which selectively control the linear amplifiers so as to produce nearly infinite output impedance and a motor control voltage and signal inverter for inverting the motor control voltage and a plurality of switching circuits connected to the inputs of the linear amplifiers for supplying the motor control voltage and phase inverter motor control voltage in a selective manner to each of the linear amplifiers and switching circuit control pulse generator for generating switching pulses based on the rotational pulse trains which are supplied to each of the switching circuits.

  • Patent number: 4363048
Abstract: A counting clock generator for a video tape recorder, in which two different phase counter clock signals at a pulse repetition frequency corresponding to the running speed of a tape are processed to obtain a direction detection signal indicating the direction of running of the tape and a clock signal at a frequency of predetermined times that of the two different phase counter clock signals, and the clock signal thus obtained is counted by a reversible counter, which is controlled for switching between up-counting and down-counting by the direction detecting signal with data "0" preset when the tape is running forward and data "maximum value" preset when the tape is running backward, for producing two revised counter clock signals of different phases according to the count output signal from the reversible counter.

  • Patent number: 4358720
Abstract: A brush-less dc motor driving circuit is disclosed, wherein a variable constant current source is connected in series with motor windings, and motor torque proportional to motor currents is adjusted by controlling current value of said variable constant current source. Further, a supply voltage control loop is provided, so that power loss at the variable constant current source becomes minimum.
