  • Publication number: 20100124930
Abstract: A system and method are provided wherein one or more femtocell base stations are deployed within a range of a cellular base station and utilize substantially the same frequency band as the cellular base station. Each femtocell base station may be configured to employ one or more interference avoidance techniques such that coexistence between the cellular and the corresponding femtocell base station is enabled. The interference avoidance techniques employed may include use of randomized time or frequency hopping; randomly selecting a predetermined number, or identifying one or more unutilized, frequency subchannels for signal transmission; using two or more transmit and two or more receive antennas; nulling one or more transmissions in a direction of a nearby cellular base station user; handing off at least one cellular user to one of the femtocell base stations and vice versa; and/or reducing the transmission power of at least one femtocell base station.

  • Publication number: 20090228379
Abstract: A digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system assists a user in managing electronic components based on his or her digital footprint. The digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system delivers a dramatically improved ‘digital home support’ experience across multiple support channels (e.g., ‘on-the-box’, web, IVR, agent voice, agent chat, agent email, and more). The digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system generates, displays, and uses a ‘digital footprint’ of the components within the home, such as computer hardware/software, computer peripherals, audio/visual equipment, gaming hardware/software, home security hardware/software, or other electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20090023467
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing space division multiple access in wireless communications are disclosed. After the receipt of a set of training data from a base station, an estimated channel state information (CSI) is then generated by a mobile station. The CSI is subsequently quantized. The mobile station then determines whether or not the quantized CSI falls within a set of thresholds. If the quantized CSI falls within the set of thresholds, the mobile then sends feedback information to the base station to allow the base station to consider the mobile station as one of the mobile station candidates available for data communications. Otherwise, if the quantized CSI falls outside the set of thresholds, the mobile station then discards the quantized CSI.

  • Patent number: 7369850
Abstract: A system and method in a connectivity user interface of a mobile device that enables a user to inspect and select a connection from among available network connections and methods of connecting. If the user alternatively wants a connection to be automatically selected by the device, the connectivity user interface allows the user to verify the connection that will be made when required. An easily accessible connectivity dialog displays configured connections, and connection data. Before a connection is established, the connection data may describe a type of connection, such as the telephone number for a dial-up connection. After a connection is established, the connection data may describe the connection's status, such as the amount of time the connection has been in use. A link in the connectivity user interface enables the user to efficiently configure or reconfigure a connection.

  • Patent number: 7277946
Abstract: The present invention enables a game server to provide hosting services by connecting the game server device to a peer group, notifying at least one member of the peer group of the availability of the server device, and enabling the server device to accept and respond directly to searches for the hosting services, which are directed at the peer group by one or more gaming client devices. Discovery of peer group gaming content as well as updating such content are also provided by the present invention. The present invention further enables both peer group protocol supported and non-supported devices to interact with and provide the services provided by a peer group.

  • Patent number: 7154530
Abstract: Method and apparatus enable cutting out shapes (S) preset in moving sheet material (10) by locating coordinates of one or more fiducials (F,F2 . . . ) in the sheet material (10) with a vision system (12). The fiducials (F,F2 . . . ) correspond to a pattern (P) for the preset shape (S). A cutting system (11) superimposes the pattern (P) relative to the located one or more fiducials (F,F2 . . . ) for cutting out the preset shape (S) while the vision system (12) is concurrently locating subsequent one or more fiducials (F,F2 . . . ) in the moving sheet material (10). The concurrent processes of cutting and locating subsequent fiducials (F,F2 . . . ) are repeated substantially continuously. Preferably, using two or more fiducials (F,F2 . . . ), distortion is detected and the pattern (P) can be remapped before cutting for accurate superposition of the pattern (P) and distorted preset shape (S).
