Abstract: The invention relates to a process for dyeing keratinous fibres, comprising the simultaneous or sequential application of a composition (A) containing a compound of formula (I): ##STR1## in which: R.sub.1 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, acetyl, benzoyl, phenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 carboxyalyl (sic);R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 denote hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyalkyl, amino, halogen, nitro, alkylphenyl, phenyl, alkylamino, hydroxyalkylamino;and a composition (B) containing at least one compound of formula (II): ##STR2## in which: R.sub.4 and R.sub.6 denote hydrogen, alkyl;R.sub.5 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, COOR' where R' is hydrogen or alkyl;Z.sub.1 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or hydroxyl;Z.sub.2 represents hydrogen or alkyl or a compound of formula (III): ##STR3## in which: R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 denote hydrogen or alkyl;X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 represent hydrogen or an NH.sub.2 radical;R.sub.9 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy;as well as the compositions used.

Abstract: The invention relates to cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions containing the derivatives of benzylidenecamphor of formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 denotes H, OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy, R.sub.3 denotes OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy, or else when R.sub.1 denotes H or OH, R.sub.3 can represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 denote H or OH, at least one of the radicals R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 representing OH.The compounds (I) are wide-band sunscreens and antioxidants, and are utilized in the treatment of cutaneous inflammations and allergies.

Abstract: A 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1-naphthalenol derivative of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 represent lower alkyl,R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 represent hydrogen or lower alkyl,R represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 alkyl substituted by one or more hydroxyl groups, C.sub.3 -C.sub.18 alkenyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 acyl, benzyl, benzoyl, carboxyl and carboxylic salts of an alkali or alkaline earth metal or of an organic amine.The derivative is useful as an antioxidant in cosmetic compositions and in pharmaceutical compositions for the preventive treatment of cutaneous inflammations and allergies or certain forms of cancer.

Abstract: In a first stage of a process for the preparation of 6-piperidino-2,4-diaminopyrimidine-3-oxide at least one of the two amino groups of a compound having formula (1): ##STR1## where X represents a halogen atom or OH group, is protected by an addition reaction with an isocyanate having formula:R--N=C=OIn this formula R represents an alkyl group, or one of the amino groups. The resulting urea derivative is then oxidized to produce the corresponding N-oxide which is then reacted with piperidine. The protective group(s) are then eliminated by reaction with an organic or inorganic base.

Abstract: The invention relates to the new compounds consisting of N,N'-bis(.beta.-hydroxyethyl)-N,N'-bis(4'-aminophenyl)-1,3-diamino-2-propa nol and N,N'-bis(ethyl)-N,N'-bis(4'-amino-3'-methylphenyl)ethylenediamine, and their use in keratinous fiber dyeing compositions and processes.
