Abstract: A system for the selective illumination of electronic memorial candles in a memorial display of a publicly viewable array of physical electronic candles at a religious or memorial site. The array of candles is electronically connected to a single computer configured to interelationally control illumination of all the candles in the array with selective candle illumination of one or more candles in the array and duration of the illumination of the selected candles. A payment validator instructs the computer to accept validated payment in the form of physically deposited paper currency, credit card or debit card charge or an electronic fund transfer from an existing account. When payment is validated the computer actuates the selected candle for illumination by a user or directly illuminates the selected candle or candles for the selected candle or candles for the paid for duration of time.

A payment account statement is periodically transmitted to the institution or manufacturer to confirm actual payments with the electronic statement of payments to control pilferage. Lighting data and related income is collected and generated for planning purposes. The system is operable locally or remotely with remote viewing capability.

Abstract: An electronic candle which emulates the appearance of a flame candle comprising a housing containing at least two colored light sources such as color light emitting diodes (LED), with the LEDs being angularly arranged relative to each other. The candle further comprises a power source for illuminating the LEDs, and a random switching LED driving circuitry with a voltage level alternator circuitry enhancer adapted to provide differing voltage levels required to drive different colored LEDs. The angled LED light sources are contained within a conically shaped enclosure having a hemispherical apex cap and wherein the wall of enclosure progressively thins from base to the apex and the enclosure comprises a dark colored ring at the base thereof to simulate a wick appearance.
