    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for smart elevator car destination management according to probabilistic destination determination. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for smart elevator car destination management according to probabilistic destination determination includes predicting a set of passengers requesting use of an elevator car in a bank of elevator cars in a building and determining a probability for each of the passengers that each passenger will select as a destination a particular floor in the building. The method also includes grouping ones of the passengers in the set according to a common floor determined to be probable for the grouped ones of the passengers. Finally, the method includes displaying in connection with the bank of elevator cars an assignment of the grouped ones of the passengers to one of the elevator cars in the bank.

The BPM system is used to model business processes which contain a set of activities linked by transitions. The BPM system is used to define, publish, deploy and execute the processes in a distributed computing environment. The service bus is used to manage web services and perform routing and transformation of messages between the web services. A transport is used to describe each process defined by the BPM system as a web service on the service bus and provide the ability to connect the BPM component to the enterprise service bus. This allows each of the processes to be exposed as a web service by injecting data retrieved from the process definition into the enterprise service bus. Furthermore, the processes defined in BPM can consume web services from the service bus.

The page specifications define the textual content of a visual page as objects within the page, and also define branching logic which controls transitions between pages in response to user inputs. The textual objects may include language-dependent specifications for where to render the text on the page, and at what size. In a preferred embodiment, the meta specification is defined as a database object. The textual objects can also specify attributes for the text as rendered on the visual page. In turn, the attributes may be a size or position of the text, the values of which depend on the language specified.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus is present for dynamically allocating a set of output interrupt lines at a host adapter to a set of input interrupt lines for card slots controlled by the host adapter. If the number of input interrupt lines is greater than the number of output lines, then interrupt sharing is necessary. The number of input interrupt lines can be determined automatically by scanning all the card slots or can be determined by values stored in lookup tables. The algorithm to determine a logical mapping of the input interrupt lines to the output lines, in cases where interrupt sharing is required, can be based on a number of factors. A simple approach is to distribute the interrupts as equally as possible. Another algorithm may take into account the expected frequency of interrupts based on the device involved. Yet another approach may use a set of predetermined priorities. Since these algorithms are implemented in firmware or software, they can be changed to meet a particular set of needs.

    Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for managing a failed input/output adapter within a data processing system is provided. In one embodiment, an operating system handler receives an indication that one of a plurality of input/output adapters has failed. The operating system handler consults an error log to determine which input/output adapter has failed. Once the bad input/output adapter has been determined, the operating system handler disables the bad input/output adapter and deallocates any processes bound for the bad input/output adapter without powering down the data processing system. A user is then notified of the bad input/output adapter so that the bad input/output adapter can be replaced. The input/output adapter may be replaced without powering down the data processing system. Once the bad input/output adapter has been replace, the new input/output adapter is enabled.
