  • Publication number: 20170308789
Abstract: Techniques and constructs can reduce the time required to determine solutions to optimization problems such as training of neural networks. Modifications to a computational model can be determined by a plurality of nodes operating in parallel. Quantized modification values can be transmitted between the nodes to reduce the volume of data to be transferred. The quantized values can be as small as one bit each. Quantization-error values can be stored and used in quantizing subsequent modifications. The nodes can operate in parallel and overlap computation and data transfer to further reduce the time required to determine solutions. The quantized values can be partitioned and each node can aggregate values for a corresponding partition.

  • Publication number: 20170271908
Abstract: A power converter having a switch network, a resonant tank network, and a controller performs in situ determination of the Q-factor of the resonant tank network. The controller excites transitory damped oscillations of the resonant tank network by applying a limited number of ON-pulses to the transistor switches of the switch network. The controller then samples the envelope of the waveform corresponding to the excited transitory damped oscillations and processes the resulting set of digital signal samples to determine the Q-factor of the resonant tank network. The Q-factor determination can be repeated to prevent the power converter from being operated under undesirable operating conditions caused by certain ambient factors, such as the unexpected presence of metal objects in the immediate vicinity of the power converter.

  • Publication number: 20170254136
Abstract: A vehicle window lift control system includes a window lift motor, a motor drive/control module, an inverter, a rotor position sensing unit, and an anti-pinch module. The window lift motor is a brushless direct current motor. The anti-pinch module detennines whether or not the vehicle window is in an anti-pinch area based on position feedback signals generated by a rotor position sensing unit that is inherently included in the brushless direct current motor. When the vehicle window is in the anti-pinch area, an obstacle judgment unit is initiated. When there is an obstacle, an anti-pinch instruction unit sends an anti-pinch instruction to the motor drive/control module, and the motor drive/control module drives the inverter according to the anti-pinch instruction to make the motor rotate reversely. The present vehicle window lift control system has the advantages of small size, low failure rate and low cost.

  • Publication number: 20170229967
Abstract: In a controller for a DC to DC converter, PWM signal generating circuitry generates a set of PWM signals phase-shifted relative to one another, and controls states of the PWM signals according to a set of control signals. Each PWM signal of the PWM signals has an on-time state and an off-time state. Ramp signal generating circuitry, coupled to the PWM signal generating circuitry, generates a set of ramp signals having substantially the same ramp slope. Each ramp signal of the ramp signals is generated in response to detecting an on-time state of a corresponding PWM signal of the PWM signals. Additionally, a comparing circuit, coupled to the PWM and ramp signal generating circuitry, alternately compares the ramp signals with a preset reference to generate the control signals. A corresponding control signal of the control signals changes the corresponding PWM signal from the on-time state to an off-time state.

  • Publication number: 20170222968
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing cross device messaging and enhanced synchronization of messages. In some configurations, an endpoint computing device can receive input of a mobile operator message. The endpoint computing device can process the message, and send a signal with the message to a relay computing device for delivery to a recipient computing device. In some configurations, the signal with the message may be sent to the relay device via a reference user profile in a distributed service platform (e.g., the Cloud). The endpoint computing device can send the signal with the message to a single relay computing device, or to multiple relay computing devices, for delivery. In some configurations, the endpoint computing device can send the signal with the message to a first relay device, which can then send the signal with the message to a second relay device for delivery to a recipient device.

  • Publication number: 20170223637
Abstract: A wireless charging system has a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter has (i) a TX coil that wirelessly transfers power to the receiver and (ii) TX circuitry that powers the TX coil and detects receiver removal by comparing TX input power and TX power loss. The TX circuitry can determine (1) TX input power as the product of sampled TX input current and voltage and (2) TX power loss using a mapping based on sampled TX coil current. When the receiver is present, the difference between TX input power and TX power loss has a first value and when the receiver is removed, the difference has a second, lesser value. The transmitter detects removal of the receiver by determining when the difference decreases below a specified threshold level. By frequently generating and analyzing the difference, the transmitter can quickly detect receiver removal and safely power down the TX coil.
