    Abstract: A serial port control system based on a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) includes a console, a plurality of processors, and a CPLD between the console and the plurality of processors. The CPLD includes a controller and a register. The console is configured to transmit an instruction including a register address and a register content of a serial port of a corresponding processor to the controller which parses the instruction to obtain the corresponding register address and register content and write them to the register; and the controller is configured to communicate with the serial port of the corresponding processor according to the register address and the register content. The controller and the register within the CPLD can automatically switch the serial port to communicate with the corresponding processor, thereby improving the efficiency.

    Abstract: A turbine rotor includes a rotor body and a balancing weight slot defined in an exterior circumference of the body. The balancing weight slot has a first axial width and a first radially outward facing surface at a first radial distance from a rotor axis. The rotor also includes a balancing weight entry port defined in a portion of the exterior circumference of the rotor body and aligned with the balancing weight slot. The balancing weight entry port has a second axial width greater than the first axial width and a second radially outward facing surface at a second radial distance from the axis of the rotor body that is smaller than the first radial distance. A method may include machining the entry port into the rotor with a tool. The method may be applied to a new rotor, or to remove cracks initiating from a previous entry port.

The master controller is configured to determine a segment length of a segment to be cut from the rod workpiece based on the outer diameter, a material density of the rod workpiece and a preset segment weight. The master controller is configured to perform a control to circularly cut the rod workpiece with the grinding wheel according to the segment length. The present disclosure further relates to a cutting method using the grinding wheel cutting apparatus.
