  • Patent number: 10104118
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. An agent resides in a mobile communication device. The agent detects Proximity-based Mobile Malware Propagation. The agent injects one or more trigger network connections in the candidate connection list. These connections appear as legitimate networks and devices, but instead trigger connection to an agent server on a service provider's network. By attempting to connect through the trigger network connection, the malware reveals itself. The system helps collect the malware signature within a short period of time after the malware outbreak in local areas, though such attacks typically bypass network based security inspection in the network.

  • Patent number: 10096235
Abstract: Alert directives and focused alert directives allow a user to provide feedback to a behavioral recognition system to always or never publish an alert for certain events. Such an approach bypasses the normal publication methods of the behavioral recognition system yet does not obstruct the system's learning procedures.

  • Publication number: 20180275356
Abstract: An optical shuffle cable comprises a first cable section, a second cable section, and an intermediate cable section between the first and second cable sections. The first cable section includes a plurality of optical fibers formed as a plurality of first optical fiber ribbons. The plurality of first optical fiber ribbons are stacked to arrange the plurality of optical fibers of the first cable section in a first array. The second cable section includes a plurality of optical fibers formed as a plurality of second optical fiber ribbons. The plurality of second optical fiber ribbons are stacked to arrange the plurality of optical fibers of the second cable section in a second array. The first and second arrays have respective first and second orientations that are perpendicular to each other such that the plurality of first optical fiber ribbons and the plurality of second optical fiber ribbons are shuffled between the first and second orientations within the intermediate cable section.

  • Patent number: 10069799
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to configure virtual private mobile networks are disclosed. Example methods include provisioning a virtual private mobile network within a wireless network, and, after provisioning the virtual private mobile network, determining whether a first communication from a user equipment matches a security event profile. When the first communication matches the profile, the example methods include transmitting, from the wireless network via a first base transceiver station, an instruction to cause the user equipment to be communicatively coupled to the virtual private mobile network. The example methods further include instructing the user equipment to transmit a second communication through a second base transceiver station that is physically separate from the first base transceiver station and through the virtual private mobile network. In the example methods, the virtual private mobile network is isolated in a wireless spectrum from other portions of the network.

  • Publication number: 20180247133
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for matching a current background scene of an image received by a surveillance system with a gallery of scene presets that each represent a previously captured background scene. A quadtree decomposition analysis is used to improve the robustness of the matching operation when the scene lighting changes (including portions containing over-saturation/under-saturation) or a portion of the content changes. The current background scene is processed to generate a quadtree decomposition including a plurality of window portions. Each of the window portions is processed to generate a plurality of phase spectra. The phase spectra are then projected onto a corresponding plurality of scene preset image matrices of one or more scene preset. When a match between the current background scene and one of the scene presets is identified, the matched scene preset is updated. Otherwise a new scene preset is created based on the current background scene.

  • Publication number: 20180234526
Abstract: In a disclosed embodiment, a method for communication in a network includes receiving, at a first device registered to the network, a physical layer (PHY) frame that includes a PHY header and a MAC header. The PHY frame may further include a MAC payload. The PHY header includes a destination address field. The method further includes comparing a network address of the first device to the destination address field to determine whether the destination address field stores a value having the same number of bits as the network address. When the comparison indicates that the value stored by the destination address field does not have the same number of bits as the network address, the method skips decoding the MAC header and the MAC payload.

  • Patent number: 10049293
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for extracting micro-features at a pixel-level based on characteristics of one or more images. Importantly, the extraction is unsupervised, i.e., performed independent of any training data that defines particular objects, allowing a behavior-recognition system to forgo a training phase and for object classification to proceed without being constrained by specific object definitions. A micro-feature extractor that does not require training data is adaptive and self-trains while performing the extraction. The extracted micro-features are represented as a micro-feature vector that may be input to a micro-classifier which groups objects into object type clusters based on the micro-feature vectors.

  • Publication number: 20180227364
Abstract: Certain embodiments described herein are generally directed to processing domain objects in a distributed system using logical sharding. In some embodiments, a central control plane (CCP) node receives a domain object. In some embodiments, if the CCP node determines that the domain object is not already present in a shared data store and that the CCP node is the logical master of the domain object, the CCP node generates a status based on the domain object, and stores the status and domain object in the shared data store. In some embodiments, the shared data store notifies the plurality of CCP nodes of the stored status and domain object.

  • Publication number: 20180227317
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to adaptive and user-defined security against side-channel attacks in a virtual network. Traffic in the virtual network can be monitored at the hypervisor level and network security levels, such as padding and inclusion of dummy packets in the traffic stream, may be adaptively switched based on the monitored traffic information. In addition, user-defined security policies can be input to a management console. Thus, the security levels can be adaptive to real-time traffic bandwidth usage in the network and also flexibly specified by the user/administrator, which may be more efficient.

  • Publication number: 20180119535
Abstract: A method, system, and computer readable medium for managing drilling operations include calibrating a drilling model using collected drilling data, and executing, during a drilling operation, a simulation on the drilling model to generate a predicted measurement value for a drilling property. During the drilling operation and from a drillstring, an actual measurement value for the drilling property is obtained. Based on the actual measurement value matching the predicted measurement value, the simulation is extended to generate a simulated state of the drilling operation during the drilling operation, and a condition of the drilling operation is detected. A notification may be presented based on the condition during the drilling operation.
