    Abstract: A portable charger and cradle assembly is provided for holding and charging an electronic device from an internal battery or an external power source wirelessly or via direct connection between the electronic device and the assembly. The assembly has a cradle housing with a support surface against which the electronic device may be held for wireless charging, and a support member attached to the cradle housing for positioning the cradle and electronic device as desired. At the end of the support member, a power connection interface is provided for coupling with an external power source to provide a charge to the electronic device via the charger and cradle assembly. In alternate embodiments, mounting means, such as a clip, can be provided at the end of the support member for holding the assembly in place.

The portable charger kit comprises a wallet, a charger unit, and one or more interchangeable charging cables, each having a first end connection interface and a second end connection interface. The ends of the charging cable are storable within respective first and second cavities formed in the charger unit. A power connection port is provided in the charger unit in operative communication with the internal battery. The connection port is disposed within the first cavity for engagement with the first connection interface of the charging cable. The second end of the charging cable may be removed from its storage cavity and flexed out and away from the charger housing for engagement with a portable electronic device or an external power source while the first end remains in engagement with the power connection port.

The ignition power outlet comprises a positive power socket, a negative power socket, a positive sensing socket and a negative sensing socket. The sensing sockets are electrically isolated from the power sockets, and the microcontroller senses voltage across the sensing sockets and is configured to interrupt the operative electrical connection of the jump start circuit to the ignition power outlet until proper voltage is sensed across the sensing sockets.
