  • Publication number: 20140125048
Abstract: A media binder has an inner assembly and a case assembly, The inner assembly includes inside boards pre-attached to a binding mechanism. Adhesive is placed on outward surfaces of the inside boards. The case assembly includes a cover sheet with at least one marginal edge attached to surface boards and at least one loose edge. To customize cover, a printed cover is inserted in-between the cover sheet and the surface board through an opening formed by the loose edge. The case assembly is then laminated. The laminated case assembly is combined with the inner assembly using the adhesive on the inside boards. A one-piece media binder has cover sheets wrapping around surface boards forming pockets. The surface boards are partially attached to paste downs. To customize cover, printed covers are inserted into the pockets, and the paste downs are then attached to the surface boards to seal loose edges.

  • Patent number: 7961198
Abstract: In a method of managing color output by appearance intent a color display value is received. The color display value comprises at least one appearance intent tag and is associated with an item of graphic content. The color display value is converted into an intermediate color value such that an appearance intent specified by the appearance intent tag is preserved in the intermediate color value. The intermediate color value is converted into an output color display value recognizable by an output device, such that the appearance intent is preserved in the output color display value.

  • Patent number: 5621545
Abstract: A color printing system includes a discrete CMY color printer, a LAB color error diffuser, and a LAB/CMY converter. The diffuser includes an image compensator, a vector color space reverter, an error calculator, and an error diffuser. The vector color space reverter provides for error diffusion in a LAB color space that is different from the CMY color space of the printer. The perceptual linearity of the LAB color space provides for enhanced color fidelity in the printed image. In addition, color conversion and error diffusion are performed together, minimizing computational error accumulation and maximizing computational throughput.

  • Patent number: 5402245
Abstract: A system selectively enables a printer to deposit on a sheet C, M, Y and K color dots at each of the plurality of pixel locations to produce a color image. The system comprises a memory for storing C, M, Y and K color values for each pixel in the color image and a processor for controlling selective deposition of the C, M, Y and K colors. The processor determines a gray value for each pixel location from values stored in the C, M, and Y color planes. The processor subtracts the determined gray value from the C, M, and Y values which correspond to the pixel location and then determines a relationship of the gray value to a non-linear function and in dependence upon the relationship alters the C, M and Y pixel values accordingly.
