  • Patent number: 9932184
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing documents are provided. The apparatus includes a feeder for receiving a packet of a plurality of documents and separating the documents to serially feed the documents to a scanner. A retard adjacent the feeder is operable in first and second positions. In the first position the retard forms a nip with the feeder so that the retard is operable to impede the progress of one or more documents in the packet while the feeder feeds one of the documents in the packet. In the second position, the retard is spaced apart from the feeder to form a gap between the feeder and the retard. The system further includes a sensor for detecting a characteristic of the documents in a packet indicative of whether the number of documents in the packet exceeds a predetermined threshold. A drive mechanism automatically drives the retard pad between the first and second positions in response to the detected characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20170320567
Abstract: An aircraft rotor assembly has a central hub and a plurality of rotor blades coupled to the hub for rotation with the hub about an axis, each blade having a Lock number of approximately 5 or greater. A lead-lag pivot for each blade is formed by a flexure coupling the associated blade to the hub. Each pivot is a radial distance from the axis and allows for in-plane lead-lag motion of the associated blade relative to the hub, each pivot allowing for in-plane motion from a neutral position of at least 1 degree in each of the lead and lag directions. Elastic deformation of the flexure produces a biasing force for biasing the associated blade toward the neutral position, and the biasing force is selected to achieve a first in-plane frequency of greater than 1/rev for each blade.

  • Patent number: 9587205
Abstract: A peracid bleaching species is formed in situ in aqueous wash liquor by reaction of a peroxygen bleach precursor, such as perborate or percarbonate, and a bleach activator. The bleach activator is an acetylated ethylene diamine, that comprises at least 25% triacetyl ethylene diamine. The peracid is formed more rapidly even at low temperatures (F2) compared to use of conventional pure tetracetyl ethylene diamine (F1) and better disinfectant properties result.
