  • Patent number: 6964742
Abstract: A method for reducing malodors in hydrotropes, such as alkyl aryl sulfonates, is provided that reduces and/or eliminates some or all of the detectable residual odoriferous compounds from hydrotropic compositions using a malodor treatment material, such as, for example, activated carbon. In one aspect of a preferred embodiment of the invention, a malodor treatment material enables the reduction and/or elimination of residual odoriferous compounds from hydrotropic compositions while keeping intact the active hydrotrope solids.

  • Publication number: 20050184857
Abstract: A security container with an electronic lock circuit is used to securely store mechanical keys or other valuable items. Items to be protected are placed in a secured location in the security container. A detector of the security container detects whether the items are indeed in the secured location, such as by means of receiving signals from a transponder attached to the items. The security container is locked only if the items are detected to be in the secured location. Audit trail records for the locking and unlocking events of the security container may be downloaded for analysis. A monitoring device with a location identification device, such as a GPS sensor, may be attached to items to be monitored for tracking locations and activities of the items.

  • Publication number: 20050167440
Abstract: A coupling for connection of a tube comprises a coupling housing which includes a first end into which the tube is inserted, a clamping ring which is positioned in the coupling housing against a first conical surface, a sealing ring which is positioned in the coupling housing, and a return ring which is positioned in the coupling housing between the clamping ring and a second end of the housing adjacent a second conical surface that is tapered opposite to the first conical surface. The return ring is expandable and comprises a central aperture which is smaller than the external diameter of the tube. Accordingly, when the tube is pushed into the coupling housing and forced through the return ring, the return ring will expand and move along the second conical surface.

  • Publication number: 20050161953
Abstract: A bayonet locking system for vending machines or the like is provided for locking and unlocking the machine preferably with a remotely controlled electronic operating device. The lock system includes at least one axially and rotationally movable bayonet that can be mounted selectively on the door of the machine and at least one receptacle receiving device disposed within the interior of the machine and positioned for engagement by the bayonet when the door is moved between an open position, an intermediate position, and a closed position. When the door is manually moved from the open position to the intermediate position, the bayonet advances into the receptacle and rotates to capture it in the receptacle. Then the bayonet axially retracts to pull the door into the closed position wherein a gasket disposed between the door and the vending machine is substantially uniformly compressed and sealed around its periphery.

  • Publication number: 20050072874
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing paper from rolls which feeds continuously, roll to roll, and does not require extra procedure to bring stub roll into position. The apparatus has means for holding and positioning at least first and second rolls of paper with respect to each other; means for dispensing paper from the first roll; means for dispensing paper from the first and second rolls simultaneously when the first roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper, means for positioning the depleted first roll for replacement without the necessity of removing the second roll; and means for dispensing from the second and replacement rolls simultaneously when the second roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper. The apparatus also has a proximity sensor, which senses when a hand is placed near the dispenser, and thereupon dispenses a set amount of towel. The proximity sensor incorporates “static” and noise immunity circuitry.

  • Patent number: 6805820
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus end method for introducing various additives in solid form into a soap mass for the ultimate manufacture of soap bars. Specifically, the invention is directed to producing soap bars having a multicolored or marbleized appearance and made from a variety of different colored soap materials. Soap pellets having a color are introduced into a soap plodder as is customary. A second or alternate color of soap pellet is separately introduced into the interior of the plodder just before that point where the helical screw of the plodder enters the barrel of the extruder portion of the plodder.
